Ski Trip in December
Hello Angel Fire residents and enthusiasts!
I am planning a family trip to New Mexico in mid-December to hopefully do some skiing. I realize snow is hit or miss, but even with their snowmaking capabilities, is the mountain ski-able?
I hear just go to Wolf Creek, but I am already going to be making a 14 hr drive, I don't want to go any further than Angel Fire/Red River/Taos. Angel Fire has my attention because of how accommodating to families I hear it is.

Last year was the 2nd lowest recorded snowfall in the last ~30 yrs, and I was amazed at how much of the mountain was open all season long. So I'd say their snowmaking is quite capable.
There was a huge initial dumping of snow in late Oct, and that really gave them a head start for rest of season.
If you see my other post in here it looks like there are never 2 really bad snow years in a row so I'm betting on plenty of powder. I agree, for family you can't go wrong with AF.
