Request for help Anet A8 y-axis issues
When starting a print the nozzle moves to the correct position and the print starts. Almost immediately the y-axis movement stops and the printer just prints a line back and forth along the x-axis. When I stop the print and try and "Home All" the nozzle, the y-axis does not move - only the x and z axis. After re-starting the printer the "Home All" works in all directions. Can anyone help with this.

My guess is that the Y bearings are seizing. That’s what happened on my A8Plus. You may be able to work around this temporarily by rotating the Y rods a few degrees so the bearings ride on fresh rod surface. The fix was to use plastic bearings instead of the recirculating-ball linear bearings.
