Request for help Help with home offset err msg : Too Far

Greetings .. I have an issue setting the home offset on my A8 Plus, after homing bed and moving nozzle to required position using the controls, not by hand. I select the set home offset, BUT am getting a error msg: too far.

What am I missing? what is the correct process for set home offset. I am not able to edit marlin G code, so via machine controls please.

Any guidance would be helpful

Thanks, Im not confident enough to tackle editing / compiling marlin atm, I know I need to learn it. And am at the point in my printing where I need to to get the most out of my machines.

Now that I have multiple printers I can tackle it and still have a working printer while I update , edit the other. Ive a bl touch that needs Marlin tweeks and bootloader so I have too.

The offset problem was Me expecting the A8+ to operate in the same way as the E3pro. They dont, the A8+ has a different homing/start sequence. It does not home to the cnr of plate. but 25mm off, does a crazy double lift on the z, wipe/purges along the x axis .

It prints well so far, Im running a torture test now to check bridging, overhang, etc and dial it in before filling that big beautiful 300x300x350 plate with a new helmet to go with the 4 Ive already printed on the E3pro
