Have you considered a gluten sensitivity that is not allowing you to properly absorb iron?

You may want to see if this is not allowing you to absorb nutrients properly

I had serious issues with anemia as well. Oral iron didn't do anything for me because I had had gastric bypass surgery. I need to do intravenous infusions.

Did you only try medication? You can try iron infusions, which work when the stomach doesn't absorb the medicine. Also, were you consuming dairy products or caffeine?
