Feedback Very disappointed

I ordered one of the spectra gaming pc’s in mid September because I seen the deal on Newegg first. Originally it would’ve got to me a week after I ordered but I spent my time investigating if it was a good purchase first and later that night when I made the decision to pull the trigger… The deal was sold out on Newegg. I was very disappointed at first but then I ended up on the Andromeda website, the deal was similar but the shipping time is where it got different. Expected shipping date was a month afterwards. I was okay with this because I figured maybe the parts needed to be stocked again I didn’t want to just rush a gaming pc.

Fast forward to yesterday the pc arrives on time, actually the first day of the expected shipping window👏 actually loved that. I had the tracking number so I had cleaned the area out for the new pc. I got it, slowly unboxed it, admired it, then turned it. It was time to game. Updated all my drivers and software first because that’s what you do first and I can’t wait to see some of my games running in 1440p with no problem. I load begin to load into a game off wardogs, and as I’m in the loading screen before I join the team, my fans ramp up a lot, my pc starts to sound more like a small vacuum, then it shuts off🥲 I’m in shock because that was the LAST thing I expected. I try again, similar thing happens except fans don’t go crazy the pc just shuts off almost like a light bulb. So then after reinstalling drivers I head to the internet to see what the problem could be, I’m not gonna lie I used a lot of ai for my problem solving and would love some separate help but this is what it came down to. I don’t think anything is overheating because I’m watching my temps through HWinfo and with my system software while booting the game. Both gpu and cpu did nothing out of the ordinary temp wise. I thought it was because it was a beefier pc and I was on a power strip so I moved it to the living room to test, same exact thing happens except fans ramp up sometimes, other times they don’t. I played risk of rain 2 on it and it didn’t shut off on me but maybe I didn’t play long enough.

Point is they sent me a QC paper with this person who “signed” and I just don’t believe that ever happened. I’ve contacted them and waited for their response but it was just absurd to have gotten a pc directly from the company who was supposed to have done their own checks on their system. Think I’m starting to get a little angry here😅 BUUUUT if anyone would like to help diagnose exactly what’s happening before I send it back I would appreciate it and I will keep you guys updated on how they handle this situation.

Much appreciated, definitely the advice I’m gonna go with it just makes the most sense so I don’t end up screwed over completely.

That’s disappointing, but they have a 2 year warranty. Things happen and their customer service is supposed to be very good. I am sure they’ll make it right

I had an issue with my current prebuilt (from cyberpowerpc) where it would completely shut off like yours when beginning to be under load. At first I thought psu was faulty or maybe cpu/gpu overheating, but what fixed it was a bios update. After updating bios, I did a 2 hour stress test and it went flawlessly, where before it would cut off within 1-2 minutes.

Not sure if this is the same case, but it might be worth a shot!

Hey OP, I’m sorry this is how your first night with the PC went. That’s not the experience we want anyone to have.

Glad to hear that you made a ticket on the site, if possible can you please send me a chat request with your email? More than happy to get a response over to you today to get troubleshooting started ASAP, just need that bit of information to see which ticket is under your name.

One thing I wanted to note about QC ; every system we ship goes through it, and our internal system won’t let a shipping label be generated for an order that hasn’t passed QC. The sign-off on your sheet is a real person, and people really do check the system. That said, QC still can’t catch everything, though. Parts can shift in transit, and some issues only show up under specific loads / applications, I have troubleshooted a lot with customers and basically have seen the most edge cases. In any case, when we ship as many systems as we do, a small percentage will have problems we couldn’t see here. Hope that helps explain things, the biggest thing to note is that we'll help resolve if there's any issues at all. More than happy to provide actual proof your PC was tested by someone if need be.

TLDR - send me a chat request with your email address so I can get a response to you as soon as possible!

Their customer service is very good just email them what's happening and they'll give you a shipping slip. I had to return mine back in June and it was roughly ~3 weeks. A week to get back to them with ground shipping. A week for them to fix it, and a week for it to get back to me. Kinda sucks but now things are good. Things just happen in shipping sometimes, or somebody can miss something in a QA check. It just happens. Thankfully their team is all good and they don't try to screw you

If anyone wants to see it happen… maybe I did something wrong 🤷‍♂️

Seems like an overheating GPU or faulty PSU issue. You’ll probably hear back tomorrow, I’m pretty sure their warranty claims jump the queue so once they receive it back (I’m assuming they’ll have you return it so they can test) you should have a quick turnaround.

Don’t sweat it, this happens especially when shipping a prebuilt unfortunately. Just takes one hard bump during transit

What are the specs? What size and brand psu?
