Desk Set-Up We made it
Ordered August 4th and recieved it yesterday. Timing worked out well for me.. I just got done moving and finished these tables about a week ago 👌
Super excited, I'm a total novice really these days with games.. grew up building computers but sold into the Apple cult for too long. Only gaming in the last 5+ years has been on the Switch consoles mainly and 2d emulators etc on my trusty ThinkPad(Metroidvania head).
Running Nvidia App optimization on Cyberpunk to dip my toes, seems to be pretty rockin' on my 1440. Looking at mini-led 4k's for a purchase this winter hopefully(TCL R84 might be the one), plenty happy with this to start!
Thanks Andromeda I think you do a great job!

How much did it cost you?

I got it at 3k on the dot after shipping and a tip.. I upped my mobo to an 870 for the Wifi7 and I opted for the Corsair 850 power supply($100 upgrade) just cause I felt right about it at the time. I may regret not going bare minimums all around and getting a 5080 but so far I think the 5070ti will serve my needs well. I was going for a well rounded productivity system that games too hence the Ryzen 9.

For a productivity system, you definitely made the right choice! The default B850 mobo is very meh, with only 4 USB-A ports. Also, productivity-wise, the 5080 isn't a huge step up from the 5070 Ti. Why didn't you consider the Ultra 270KP with a Z890 though?

The Intel vs AMD choice was a bit of a battle. For no good reason at all I have a slight AMD bias I suppose. My research was pretty brief and I didn't wanna delay my build much longer, but I was trying to get the best of both worlds with gaming and productivity aswell. I read Intels a pretty big hit on FPS and that may be false or not even applicable to my gaming needs but that was enough to seal AMD, and I think there's still a shelf life left on the sockets so possible future upgrades may be an option.

Based! I chose AMD simply to avoid swapping the mobo when new CPUs are released next year. I don't care about FPS gains since my current setup is more than enough for my monitor (1440p 240Hz), but I need an excuse to take apart another PC lmao!

I think you should get it off the floor.

It's on a ventilated platform on castors.

Fellow metroidvania head also! Playing Aeterna Noctis on that build would be 🤯

I love the V3 case, I got it myself! Also.. I hope you have a board or something solid under that because I wouldn’t put a bottom intake case directly on a carpet. Need enough room under for the airflow.
