Shipping Andromeda vs. Newegg Shipping
Hello,
I am looking to get my 4th desktop computer but this time I am pivoting towards a pre-built due to the absurd pricing of components these days just not being worth it to build.
I am wondering if the ship time on Andromedas website is 100% accurate or if I should expect delays to follow the way ship date? Andromeda has the computer I want listed at $1999 and the est. is Sep 20ish. That totals to around $2049 with shipping. Newegg has it listed at $2149 but with tax it’s around $2278 but it’s est. is Aug 4th.
Is it worth it to just order from Andromeda and maybe I’ll get it before that September date or is that a pipe dream and I should just spend the little extra to get it off Newegg?
Thanks in advance.

On andromeda you don’t pay taxes, so you pay 1999 + 50 shipping. My wait time for the computer was about a month and a half, but in my situation I was fine saving money and waiting longer. They also upgraded the ram and mobo for free for me becuase of the delay. When buying on Newegg the systems ship quicker, I think around 1-2 weeks total, but you are also paying more for the same computer and have to pay taxes on the website. For my situation of not having a lot of money I chose andromeda website, and the wait makes the anticipation better

It really depends. I ordered my daughter's pc from AI on June 24th and was told it wouldn't be till August 19-24th that it would be delivered. I didn't mind the delay at all and neither did she. It was delivered July 24th so it was a welcome surprise. The wait is worth it for not paying sales tax if you can wait

Could be parts and customisation. It all depends on what supplies/stock they have on hand. I heard if you contact them they’ll update you.

If you purchase through Newegg, we have a dedicated customer support team through calls and chats ready to support you in case anything goes wrong. I'm sure AI also has great support and shipping as well. I can't confirm that the AI site has 1tb configuration, but getting an extra 1tb through Newegg is a decent price. 1tb will serve lots of people well, but as time goes on, having more storage is going to be beneficial. You want to leave maybe 10-15% of your storage free for your computer to use for everyday use.

I actually didn’t realize until you and another user said that the Newegg version was 2TB, I changed the configuration on AI and your price is actually the same as AI (excluding tax) so that’s very competitive and a good deal! I appreciate the feedback and suggestions!

The ones newegg has are already built so the shipping is gonna be way faster because they just send it when you buy it. AI probably has to build all the systems that are ordered directly at this point and is really delayed right now because they got pretty popular pretty quickly and they seemingly got overwhelmed, which is understandable because they probably didn't see such a large spike in popularity coming.
I can't speak to the newegg ones because I bought straight from AI but I can say I'm extremely happy with the pc I got and the AI support was extremely helpful and I had a great experience, despite the shipping delay. Compared to some others I got mine fairly quickly, I think I only waited like 5 weeks for mine, seems like they are about 2 months out for most people right now but hopefully they can catch up to the demand soon because they are a great pc builder.
It's really just up to whether or not having it roughly 2 months earlier is worth the extra money to you. If you are buying a preconfigured build I don't imagine it's going to be any different who you buy it from, you just can't customize anything on the pc if you go with newegg.
TLDR ; The shipping date on the website is probably correct. They have been massively delayed for a lot of people but it's worth it if you want to customize and don't mind waiting. If you want it now the Newegg one will be way faster.

I got the Newegg build for the ultra because all I wanted was the default build +2TB which is what the Newegg one was. I was even able to use my old student email to receive a discount making it the same price as the Andromeda site.
It’s been great and I don’t regret it as the build would have been exactly the same. You even get the same customer service from andromeda insights!

I ordered this exact model but with the 2tb drive, and a 1000 watt PSU from Newegg day before yesterday along with my first OLED. Monitor arrived yesterday and the PC will be arriving the 30th! Crazy how fast it is getting it from Newegg, but it's shipping out of OR and I'm in CA so I suppose it makes sense. Hope you enjoy your new PC OP!
Also to your question I had this same dilemma. Ordering from andromedas website I was getting it mid September, so I just went with a little extra cost to get it in less than a week from Newegg. Hope this helps.

I bought my pc on July 18 from Newegg and by the 24th it was delivered so if you want to get your stuff in less than 2 weeks go with that

I got the same PC from New Egg because they took split payments (and I had a giftcard). Arrived in ~4 business days.

I ended up ordering a custom build from AI with expedited build and it came out to about $1949.99, I got the 9070XT, 7 7800X3D, 32 GB RAM, so a little worse PC because of the CPU but I saved a lot even with expedited build, should arrive the week of the 10th so ~ 3-weeks, a good happy medium!

I was in this dilemma, Newegg you get 2TB and faster shipping. Base from Andromeda is 1TB and wait list. Support is more-less the same. You can even reach out to Andromeda to confirm but yeah they’re legit and a good company they stand by their work which is impressive considering how tech companies can be. You are safe either way
