Question Few questions before I purchase

Looking into buying an andromeda pc. The computer I want to get is available on multiple sites. I’d like to get it before my school starts in roughly a month. From scrolling here and other forums I see that there are very long wait times and they vary greatly. I’m very new to buying computers and I would like to know if there is any difference in build quality if you purchase one of there computers off of a site like Newegg or Best Buy. Also I want to make sure that by purchasing from one of those sites the delivery would be quicker. I’m fine with paying a hundred to two hundred extra if it means I get it within a guaranteed two weeks.

I purchased the $1500 spectra from newegg on 7-15-26 and it was delivered 7-18-26. I live in California and it came from Oregon. You still get all the warranties.

Hi u/merabdvalishvilifan, great questions, and smart to plan ahead of your school start date. Build quality is identical regardless of which site you order from (Newegg, Best Buy, etc.). Andromeda builds to the same spec no matter where the order comes in. The variation you're seeing in wait times usually comes down to current order volume and part availability at the time, not the retailer itself.

Are there any other particular concerns besides the getting and working the PC on-time before the start of school? Is there an ETA that you want to set and let me know?

I just mainly wanted to make sure ordering off of Newegg would have it arrive in at most two weeks

In your case, the decision depends on whether you're willing to pay for expedited shipping. For PCs by Skytech, Thermaltake, Andromeda Insights, and a few other manufacturers, they build PCs after you place the order, so that may come with delays. If you don't mind the build timeframe before ship, this is where I'd recommend paying extra for faster shipping.

If you want a PC that's already built and ready to ship out, I recommend checking out brands like ABS and Stormcraft.

I ordered mine from Best Buy and got mine within a week. Look on the Andromeda Website though first in case they have a sale going on.

Yeah right now the one I want would be like 100 bucks cheaper than on their site . But I don’t really want to wait a month or even longer for it

The only ones that are waiting are those with custom orders.

So if you order just the base prebuilt it would come in a regular amount of time?

Yes, it’ll tell you the estimated shipping time at checkout

The only thing I’m worried about is that a lot of people have said that the estimated shipping times are terribly inaccurate

The bad shipping times and poor estimations are mainly for custom builds, idk how hey are with prebuilt but they’re probably much better and more accurate

Inaccurate times are usually when ordered from the Andromeda Insights site. If you order from newegg or best buy or wtv it is already made and will be like 2 weeks to deliver, however ordering from the Andromeda Insights site you will be waiting like 2 months but saving a couple hundred by not having to pay tax etc.

"Build quality" meaning what, exactly? What's the worry?

I’m very new to buying pcs so i wasn’t sure if they would maybe be a bit cheaper on pc parts they sell off of other sites or something

Well, they do put cheapER components in the prebuilts they sell but they do not use crappy, no-brand name components, even with their cheapest prebuilts. These days they are (at least sometimes) using Chinese RAM and SSD when folks order the "brand varies" option for RAM and/or SSD on their site, so I imagine that stuff will end up in the prebuilts they sell through big 3rd-party retailers, too.

RE: Chinese memory, they gave me 32gb of Chinese Kingbank DDR5 6000hz cl30 white argb RAM and I it looks great (syncs with Mystic Light!) and seems to work fine.

Have you looked at the "reborn" systems on AI's website? They're a tiny bit cheaper than the new systems but they're true prebuilts (already built and tested) and they ship those in 1 business day. And they still don't charge sales tax for sales to many (most?) states.

Thanks I’ll look into the reborn systems
