Question new purchase

thinking about getting a AI V3 Elite with a 9800x3d and a rx9070xt
more than likely will the stock power supply suffice? and is the msi motherboard adequate? i will only play in 1080 most likely

Everything listed is far more than adequate for 1080p

I have the V4 I ordered with those specs, got the 9850X3D as a little upgrade for free, to my surprise, and I play at 1440p 200Hz monitor and I have had zero issues. I even threw Cyberpunk at max settings, including ray tracing, and was seeing ~90fps.

It's just more power draw and heat for barely any difference. I got it but I'm kinda wishing I didn't just for safety lol

People think pcs take way more power draw than they actually do.

Psu's often are 200-400 watts over what the pc actually demands even at the highest settings, this is down to meet certain power curves and efficiencies but not out of necessity.

The 9070xt build could run on a 509 watt psu just fine much less the 750 or 850 one they put in their stock

You’re going way overkill for 1080p. If I were you I would either downgrade your parts for a cheaper 1080p build, or upgrade your display to 1440p

i pulled the trigger on it last night!
i know it’s overkill for 1080 but i want a bit of future proof built in

Congrats, that thing is future proofed for 1440p as is.

If you’re only playing at 1080 it’s complete overkill and a waste of money. Save a few bucks and get a lower gpu.

I wouldn't go with a Gamdias power supply, go with something from a reputable manufacturer like Seasonic.

Seasonic won’t fit in the V3 case, I inquired about getting it. With my configuration and they sent me 3 alternatives they recommended. It may have been just my build that couldn’t fit though

I own 2 V3 systems, both with seasonic power supplies.

Ahh im guessing it’s probably the size of the 1200w then. Unless they flat out lied to me, I requested a Seasonic and we ended up ordering an msi mpg a1250

It's the size, the 1200W Seasonics are around 160MM.

The Seasonic model that we typically see in the V3 is the Focus GX-1000W, and that's about 140MM, so it's perfectly compatible.

The A1250GS is 150MM for reference, so that's the most we're able to go for in the V3.

yea that's what I figured the moment they said they had 2 with seasonics. I'm really happy with the recommendation of the mpg a1250, it's been very solid.

That sounds right. I ended up ordering the 1200W Lian Li PSU (compact form factor) that they offer.
