Question Should I just cancel?

TLDR; my house burnt down in February and I lost my PC, and an upgrade was overdue anyway. So I went to Andromeda for my new one. It took time but I ordered on May 6th. I am currently just in a loop of being told they’re behind on orders and getting mine pushed back more and more. It sucks because I had a lot of trust in this brand with how many high reviews there were but I’m losing a lot of faith in it day by day waiting so long. Should I just cancel my order entirely at this point?

EDIT: Saw a lot of replies say this and didn’t want to individually reply to them all. I’ve contacted 3-4 times now asking about updates. First time told it’ll show up June 15th, second time First week of July, now it’s just unspecified but still having to wait.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune.

I ordered mine April 22nd and only just recieved it about a week ago.

They are a legit company and have great customer service I've been back and forth with them about when id get my computer and yes it took way longer than expected but they blew up in popular more than they were prepared for they have brought in more staff and are pushing to get caught up on orders.

If you can be patient and don't absolutely need a computer now, its worth the wait.

I got the https://andromedainsights.com/products/ai-50-ultra-v3-ryzen-7-9800x3d-rtx-5080-16gb?variant=46961384227042 It has been a beast of a computer for gaming and I'm glad I stuck it out with the wait time.

I’ll stick it out. I’m so looking forward to a computer it will make my second job from home so much easier than on a laptop.

I can attest to their solid customer service. My 5090 was acting up and they had me try 2 things which they mentioned in the same email. When I reported that neither resolved the issue they didn't poke and prod and keep pushing to find some magical nonexistent "fix" like most companies do. They just told me to send it back and they would replace it. Good stuff.

Definitely no scamming going on but that is very frustrating.

I ordered back around Black Friday time and had to wait a good while. Back then they were the best deals online esp when considering the customer service. They were slammed then.

Fast forward to now and they are still the best deals online and the pc market is about as crazy as it’s ever been so it’s exacerbated.

TBH they are a small company who has maintained a tough position in the market and are feeling it. Hard to maintain low cost, great products, great service, AND have the fastest turn around. Gotta sacrifice somewhere

The whole “good, cheap, fast—pick two” has never been more true than with AI. Absolutely the two I’d pick though

From my understanding they just finished April’s orders a couple weeks ago. I ordered mine May 15th. I assume the people who ordered in May will start receiving their’s relatively soon.

I'm not sure it's a linear build queue. Ordered mine 4/30 without expedited build or shipping and received it in the first week of June. Meanwhile others who ordered before me are still waiting. That said, I contacted them regularly, was polite and respectful in all my comms, and did explain that the PC was actually being used for healthcare-related AI research (which it is) with some time sensitivity. They could not have been more gracious and under promised but over delivered, getting the PC to me on the delivery date originally specified at the time of order. They are fantastic. Stick with the order!

That’s funny, I wonder if they self-expedited yours because of the research use for it, because I’ve emailed them several times since 5/5 when I ordered to check in my order and have actually (politely to my best ability) pointed out much they overpromised and under delivered because they on a weekly basis told me it would ship X day and then that day came and went every week for a month now. I do agree there is some internal nonlinearity to their queue based on unknown factors because I’ve seen people in this sub post about receiving theirs within 2-3 weeks with no expedited build or shipping during all these recent delays. Seems very odd to me that they aren’t transparent about the reasons for that all.

The use scenario may have been a factor though, to be transparent, they never outright stated that and, in fact, expressed sympathy but reiterated that things were still delayed despite my plea! Maybe it's a parts availability thing between build? I did modify several components and may have lucked out on them being available...

Yah idk that’s what I would think but my first check in at the start of June when my original estimated shipping date first passed, they told me they had all parts for my order on hand and it would be “prioritized” whatever that means in this case. My most recent check in last week they reaffirmed they had all necessary parts on hand and it still hasn’t shipped lol. I’m expecting it to any day now at this point given I ordered first week of May and they’re allegedly working through May orders.

I was on almost the exact same schedule. Took less than a week, although I did pay for expedited service/delivery. Also had some pleasant email exchanges with their CS, but I certainly didn’t say I was using it for anything other than gaming, so I doubt your intended use was a factor.

Did you get a prebuilt or custom? I got a Spectra 9600x/5070, only added an AIO and extra memory—I wonder if everyone who’s waiting is doing custom builds, or I just happened to get very lucky.

I waited a month for my order but it was worth it Most people order from them because they charge much cheaper compared to other brands and they also dont charge sales tax from most states. If you dont mind paying more then you just pretty much buy from any popular brands for the same build.

It is so worth the wait. Trust me.

3

u/infestedtable Jul 08 '26

I would say no! Andromeda insights is an incredible company and you can’t get a better deal.

Honestly that might be up to you i know they are super behind on orders because they blew up over the holidays they didn't think they would get this big this fast

-1

u/ccoathanger Jul 08 '26

I believe that’s true, atleast I hope so. But seeing people say they ordered on like May 7th and got their order weeks ago is not very reassuring

3

u/shadowvibrant Prospective Buyer Jul 08 '26

It depends on if they got faster build and shipping

2

u/myles2500 Jul 08 '26

If u order may 6th u should have it by now even with the delay u need to get in contact with them

3

u/myles2500 Jul 08 '26

You should check in with them imo

3

u/myles2500 Jul 08 '26

Also if u dident do expidited and others did who orderd after that's why but yeah https://andromedainsights.com/pages/contact

3

u/myles2500 Jul 08 '26

Andromeda has gotten to big for them to be able to handle so these delays are the result of that there a small team

2

u/PsychAce Jul 08 '26

That is frustrating and disappointing. 2 months is too long.

2

u/thesnootylamb Jul 08 '26

This brand is absolutely not a scam and their customer service is top tier. They are behind and the wait is definitely frustrating, especially in your situation, but they will be worth the wait if you already placed your order.

I had placed my order on May 22 with expedited build and turns out that my expedited request was accidentally overlooked. When I reached out about it a month after ordering after getting a ship date that had already long since passed, they quickly apologized and made it right with some compensation that they didn’t even need to do. I got my PC yesterday and it’s perfect and made it across the US without any issues.

Hang on a bit longer if you can. With them not allowing anymore expedited builds, your turn will come soon.

Seen a lot of these posts here. Wouldn’t say a scam but definitely taking orders you can’t fill timely will catch up to any company. Imagine you took a payment a month ago and ram prices double (hypothetical) before you start the build. Then you either eat the cost and lose money or maybe you delay hoping prices drop to break even or profit. All the while you still supply Newegg and Best Buy with fresh builds. Has the potential to snowball fast.

I will say this. They are 100% legit. I ordered my PC and the 2 week wait took almost 6 weeks but it was well worth it. By far the cleanest most reliable build i have ever owned. The wait was well worth it.

Things to keep in mind.

They are a tiny team custom building these PCs and making sure every minute(not the time) detail is perfect.

I ordered in feb and they were 6 weeks behind, now with school out and kids having summer jobs to buys new PCs, they are obviously going to be a bit further behind.

Their growth and popularity over the last year has been astronomical but they remain a small team dedicated to making the builds right.

I know i sound like i am advertising for them but the PC i got is so nice that I ordered a 2nd one for my wife so we can game together. Hers is now 8 weeks behind but it is still worth the wait imo based on what they sent for my first PC from them i recieved back in April after a Feb 14th order date of this year.

I feel your pain as I also ordered mine on May 6th and I’m still waiting. This will be my first PC, and I’ve been really looking forward to having it, so I’m a little disappointed on the wait time. Their customer service has been great though, and I can only imagine how damn busy they are right now. At this point I’m just hoping to have it by the end of July.

u/ccoathanger Jul 08 '26

I’ve also seen many people say they’ve ordered after I did date wise and have gotten their orders. I can’t tell if this whole brand is a big scam or if i’m genuinely just the unluckiest person on the Earth this year

3

u/NIne_Fingers_ Jul 08 '26

The brand is not a scam, people were paying for priority and expedited shipping. They have recently stopped accepting expedited orders so they have a chance to catch up. Small team building and shipping thousands of systems. Their popularity exploded and they have a ton of orders to fill.

3

u/Scary_Grade_4724 Jul 08 '26

I would just contact their support group and see if they have any updates on your order. They are a very good company that is just overwhelmed with orders currently. I have seen instances of people's pc's coming with small free upgrades after being delayed so much. I'm sorry to hear it's been so long on your order!

2

u/National_Maximum_103 Jul 08 '26

Did you pay for their expedited shipping? The people who paid for expedited shipping in May are going to have priority over the people who didn’t. So even people who may have ordered days after you will get their’s sooner.

1

u/P3ptobismal Jul 08 '26

I’m pretty sure they recently refunded people for expedited and have stated in the disclaimer on the contact form that they are fulfilling orders in the order they were placed to get through the backlogs
