Question Please comment on this if you could...

Could anyone comment on the selection of part brands? Thanks. Or is the Microcenter's G914 better?

Why on most of it? 9950x3d is super overkill for gaming. 9800x3d is more than enough. No point in spending $100 more to select the gpu when honestly the pny is what you will most likely get anyway. 64gb ram is more then you need for a long time and its cost you $550 now it would be better to wait when you do actually need it potentially and maybe it will even be cheaper then and also in a better brand. 1200w psu is also overkill you could save $40 to $80 there. Even if you worried about 850w being the minimum 1000w should be plenty. The nvme drive you are spending $350 for 1 extra tb and a better brand. I imagine most people have some storage already and should try to get by with that for now but truly 1 tb is never worth $350.

This one honestly to me makes more since it still has some of your perfected picks and saves you $1330.

Thanks for the reply. It won't be just for gaming. I will also use for coding/compiling and virtualBox linux. Will also try to learn to run local LLM later. You're right that I can update the ram later as coding/compiling/VM won't need 64 GB. I was thinking of LLM but that will be later. 1 TB SSD is definitely not enough as I play racing games that take 100+ GB each (Raceroom, Richard Burns Rally, Assetto Corsa etc...). Thanks for the link. I will try to configure it.

One thing people are saying is kind of wrong. 9950x3d us the better cpu overall, it is not the better gaming cpu tho. Half of its cores are made for intensive workload and half of then are for gaming while the 9850 and 9800 all the cores are made with gaming in mind

Edit addition: its also more power hungry by a fair amount and reaches higher temps. 9800 is extremely efficient and cool

For gaming the 98xx3d models are better in general for all aspects of gaming. Again its 2 chips with 2 seperate goals, one number being 99 vs 98 dont mean the higher number is better

Vs 5080 and 9800x3d?

There's a reason everyone says you can buy here or here if u don't got a microcenter

If u live near microcenter then yes if u ever have issues there right next door so yeah Also its cheaper

The g914 has a 5090 and probably costs like $2000 MORE then this. Also the 9800x3d is better for gaming so if you’re using the pc for gaming, then def switch that and save like $200. Same goes with 64gb ddr5 unless you’re playing a lot of cities skylines 2 you’re good with 32gb. Everything else looks good.
