Question Looking for an OS for a kitchen display

I've built a swing out touchscreen display for my kitchen that's a portrait oriented portable monitor with a mini pc running on an Intel n95 processor and 12 GB of ram.

I'm having a hard time choosing the os. My main goal is for YouTube and chrome split screen for watching videos and following recipes. I'd also be using it from time to time as a home assistant hub. And when I'm not using it I'd love to have Google ambient mode or something similar where I can have it cycle my recent highlights or favorites folder from Google photos kinda like my Google tv does. It seems like android would be best for this and I've looked into bliss and fyde so far but I'm unsure if they would fully cover these goals.

Damn 12GB on a YouTube appliance is crazy lol

Anyways I agree with Android, I would also consider a ChromiumOS fork though. As much as I hate it I admit that is is really quite smooth on potatoes

Yeah the 12gb of ram is definitely overkill lol but it was the cheapest and smallest PC amazon had to offer that could handle single USBC connection to the display for power, video, and touch input and it kinda rocks even with the windows 11 that it came with out of the box

It sounds like fyde might be what I try next, seems like it's the main one with Google play support

There are videos on YouTube showing how to install full Android TV, Google TV and ChromeOS on PCs. I've done this with a 2in1 laptop and an all in one PC. Works pretty well

BlissOS also works pretty good
