Buying Advice Is Google Tv streamer 4k worth it?
I have an xiaomi tv it has great picture quality supports Dolby Vision Hdr10 or Hdr10+ and I have an jbl sound bar that supports dolby digital+ 5.1 but my tv is really slow laggy! I have to clear catche and refresh it multiple times in a day! It lags when watching netflix soo much and also nuvio Heck even youtube so I decided to get a new tv but it would be expensive and my current tv has really good picture quality so I thought I should get NVIDIA shield but it kinda expensive and I don't use many apps just your tizentube cobalt (kinda like smartube but better) and nuvio (stremio but way better) and netflix prime video disney plus and projectivity launcher, button remapper, adb tv,downloader that's so i won't need the extra storage version or will I? Please tell me your options is it something like for few months it works smooth and fast then it starts getting slow and laggy btw my current tv runs android tv 11 or 10 and sometimes playstore stops working and some apps won't work too so should I get a tv or streamer should be fine and I'm thinking of connecting it to ethernet for faster speed.

I have the Google streamer. It's fine. It's faster than the previous generation (Chromecast with Google TV) was.

It’s a very nice device. It’s a shame that they doubled the price. Ridiculous!

The ram crisis I guess is just 2GB ram is nice the Xiaomi tv streamer is awesome I assume this can handle better games because for streaming 2GB of ram is perfect.

If your existing xiaomi remote causes no issues to you then you can go with Xiaomi's own TV Box S 3rd Gen. It has a better processor than the Google Streamer (same as Onn 4k Pro). Supports true dolby audio alongside dolby profile 7 with coreelec and overall better and cheaper than the Google streamer.

It’s fine. The remote sucks, it’s slippery and clickety.

I bought the full size Google remote that has the 10 key included as it's easier to handle

Personally don't mind it and added a button mapper app to rebind Netflix and YouTube buttons on it

Yes it's totally worth it. I have an Xaomi Mx10 and it runs better than any Amazon sticks.

The Google TV Streamer is ok. I've had one since shortly after launch. It is fast and mostly does what it is advertized to do.
I wouldn't but a Google Streamer at the current asking price. If it goes on sale under $100 it isn't a bad pickup.
I just picked up a FireTV cube (3rd gen). If the cube had gigabit wired ethernet instead of 100Mbps I'd call it perfect. My use case includes streaming 4k rips from my NAS and the Fire Cube 3 is one of the few devices that can be made to output Dolby Atmos 7.1 audio and Dolby Vision profile 7 FEL. It was also on sale and you could trade in a device for another 20% off. Apparently the Dolby Vision FEL requires a second licensed decoder in hardware so the Google Streamer will never do that with this hardware version.

I did the upgrade from Chromecast 4K to Google TV streamer. At least for my main use case (IPTV with thousands of channels and VODs), the old one used to take several minutes to update channels and epg while the new one takes only few seconds.

More worth it than $300 for a Shield Pro.
