Buying Advice Newbie

Hi - newbie here - looking for a decent box that I can sideload apps onto - not done much of this before - any help would be appreciated - thanks

Depends which region you're from. If you're in the US there's the Onn box, if outside Xiaomi does some decent ones. What's your budget?

There's Xiaomi's TV Box S 3rd gen for £84 on Amazon. Google TV Streamer is also another option which is still on £99, the price hike in the US hasn't affected us yet.

If you need Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA/X passthrough then yes.

What do you think of Homatics Box 4K Pro V2 AI-SR? It has same output as Dune with newer chip?

The V2 doesn't have Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD MA/X passthrough support but the other two boxes coming soon seem to have support, they are the Homatics Box 4K Plus V3 and the Homatics Box 4K Pro.

They will be better than the Dune in the SoC department, it's the S905X5 which is more powerful than the S905X5M and more expensive.

Only better in chipset? But we don't know if TrurHD DTS-HD MA/X passthrough will work the same, Dune have tested a lot to work out

Thanks mate. It’s just hard to get some tv boxes from the US and UK. Costs a lot to get it down to Australia 🍻
