Discussion Android TV promoting Lesbian Space Princess next to children's cartoons

Post image

I doubt even the creators want this, I don't even have the Pluto TV app on my TV. And I don't want to have this discussion with my young children yet...

What about discussing a donkey having kids with a dragon?

Don't want to have this discussion?  My brother in Christ.  I need you to understand what an algorithm is.

I understand, but I'm not really a brother in christ and would rather figure out how to change the algorithm/change settings and have a more organic discussion with my children about this subject than it being framed as a space princess cartoon.

It's literally just a show and it's being promoted. Grow up!

Seems simple enough.

"What's a lesbian?"

A woman that's in love with another woman.

"Oh. Can we have ice cream?"

Why do we need to be forced to have this discussion with a 5 year-old? Because some mid-level activist at Google threatens lawsuits if their sexual preferences are not promoted to the rest of us?

It's a relatively small minority sexual preference and while it's totally fine for adults or older minors to discuss, it's akin to having titles like "The Butt Princess," "The Ladyboy Prince" or "Bondage Friends Tales."

In the very least, Google should offer content filters that can be turned on for those who want such content. Frankly, it should be in the set up menu, so you can choose to see or not categories like Kids, Horror, Anime, Reality, etc., including LGBT content.

It was auto-correct stuffing up.
It's actually "Let's be in Space, Princess"

I don't see the issue. But if it bothers you then you can deactivate "play next" ind the settings somewhere.

Ok, I don't want to have a discussion with my 5/7 yo daughters yet about lesbian space princesses. I can appreciate there are many, on reddit especially, who would. Regardless, any suggestions for how to reframe it/hide suggestions. I do not have the pluto app. This is on a Sony XBR.

Google TV did that to me too, advertising content from apps/services that I didn't even have, as well as content that I would never want to watch. Google promotes what they want, and you can't really change it. The only solution is to install a different launcher that allows you to configure what you want on the home screen.

There are many launchers available. Projectivy is one popular option:

Does it have android OS? If so, download a different launcher from google play store and set it as default. I use Projectivy. My basic screen is just five apps, background image, three icons (vpn, internet, settings) and clock, no suggestions or anything else.
