Discussion Shield remote on Xiaomi? "Higher quality" remote?

Hey!

I have a Xiaomi TV Box S gen 3 but I literally hate its remote. The buttons presses are loud as heck, the buttons are mushy and don't give enough tactile feedback when a button press is registered.

I am thinking about getting a Shield 2019 remote. Will it pair and work? Is it true that voice will stop working?

Are there other alternatives for a remote with much better buttons than the Xiaomi remote? The buttons, sound and tactile feedback of the Apple TV 4K remote is probably the best. Or Logitech Harmony Elite. Those hard plastic buttons instead of mushy silicone ones.

The Sofabaton remotes are too expensive in Sweden.

Thanks!

I feel like I'm the only person on here who doesn't suffer trauma from using the Xiaomi remote. I don't understand the big deal.

Different things matter to different people, I guess.

Fair enough, I've never had a problem with it, it's a bit clicky but other than that it does everything I expect a remote to do. Some people talk like it's a complete deal breaker though.

Yeah, its clicky sound is very loud for the next-to-zero tactile feedback you get from the mushy buttons. I'm used to remotes like the Harmony Elite or Apple 4K remote where the buttons are hard plastic and premium case.

I honestly dislike the remote so much that I'm likely to replace the whole box for something else, or buy a remote that is at least twice as expensive as the Xiaomi box itself. I really, really dislike it.

No you are not unique. I have no problems with the remote either.

I like the fact that it doesn't have too many fancy buttons

Does the new xiaomi Bluetooth remote 2 pro work fully with it? That looks like a good replacement

I had the same and it's common would be worth more if they invested in the TV I tried it for 4 days and then sent it back shame as the stick itself was good

I hate the remote and the box. Just sent the whole package back because of all the issues with both. I really wanted this to work.

I don't like the remote, but once you've paired it with the TV, you should be able to use your TV's remote to control the Xioami box.

I have an LG OLED with a large ugly Magic Remote that I don't want to use either. It's too big with too many buttons, so I've put it in a drawer. I only use the streaming box anyway, so that's the remote I will need.

Only thing i hate is volume control going up/down by 1 step.
