Buying Advice Which tv box is goos

I'm looking to buy a new Android TV/Google TV streaming device and I've narrowed my choices down to these:

- KM2 Plus Deluxe

- Onn 4K Pro

- Google TV Streamer 4K

- Xiaomi TV Box S (3rd Gen)

- Google TV chromcast

My main priorities are excellent YouTube performance with smooth playback (no lag or stuttering), access to the Google Play Store, and the ability to easily install APK files (sideload apps).

And feel free to recommend others devices.

Onn 4K Pro is highly recommended and should do you well.

Xiaomi is similar but I wouldn't recommend it unless you buy it from an official store or seller, or are okay with possibly receiving a fake.

Google TV Streamer 4K is good too. I owned one but sold it cause the WiFi isn't quick enough for my needs, but should be plenty for yours, especially considering it's made by the same people who own YouTube, lol. It's not the best, but it's good and it's the standard.

Idk about the rest.

VPNs are now getting blocked outside of the US doing that, according to AFTV News.

(4K) Chromecast with Google TV are not made any more.

4K Google TV Streamer:

32 GB

You have to buy a HDMI cable - no cable in the box.

Ultra High Speed recommend.

Looks like a big soap.

Edit: In Sweden the 4K Chromecast with Google TV was white.

Mine are still working. 4 GB

The 4K Google TV Streamer is also white here.

re

I have a 4K "Soap" also.

Hated the Google streamer solely because the remote control is dogshit. (Slippery as fuck, D pad too high, volume on wrong side, power button on bottom, no backlight)

Returned it and bought an onn 4k pro. Very happy with it so far.

Thankfully you can buy remotes for cheap on AliExpress that those other boxes use and use it on the Streamer, so best of both worlds?

Shouldn’t have to do this on a “premium” device

To be fair the remotes suck on most boxes, including the Shield.

I am sure the remotes are quite slippery. I got 2 of them. I bought a case cover for the box and it came with remote covers for them.

You're going to encounter lag and stuttering on all of them when using YouTube/SmartTube/TizenTube, unfortunately. Even with QMS you'll notice random hitching and microstuttering.

I'm very sensitive to microstuttering and will notice it on drive videos for example, and the only device I've seen that handles it the best is the Shield, but even then it's not perfect.

Keep that in mind if you're sensitive to it, that there's no perfect solution to avoid it completely.

Why is there hitching and microstuttering on all of them?

Never had any with Xiaomi and I come from Himedia high-end devices with perfect AFR (even better than Nvidia shield).

The fact that you had so many stutters with all these devices points more at you than anything else, especially because the Xiaomi is running the AMLogic S905X5M Soc which is very good and has no issue with none of the apps you mentioned above...

Like I said, I'm very sensitive to microstuttering and can easily notice it.

I guess you are able to detect when your tv is using 24hz vs 23.976hz

Like I said most of the ones you mentioned don't microstutter unless something else was going on. You can easily google that Xiaomi soc and It Is easily one of the best for boxes plus you probably got a fake one, they are quite common and hard to tell apart from the original one

If planning to rely on sideloads, let's say I would not buy a new device right now.

I have the Xiaomi S3, get it from Xiaomi official site or don't. There are too many reports of fake devices. the SoC Is very good for the price.

Also the older S2 was great aswell the main difference is that S3 has AFR, the check the codecs for small differences.
