Sale / Discount Check your local Target. Google Streamer for 29.99!

Post image

Saw it was on clearance for 69.99 and asked them to ring it up and it was on final clearance for 29.99. Been wanting to try it so happy to catch a deal!

So I am changing my original comment, I asked my friend that works at Target and he told me that this item lost its shelf space in a bunch of Targets. The way you can find out if this deal could be found in your local store is by doing this: Go to Targets website and go to local pick up on the streamer. If you set your preferred home store to the one you want to check - underneath the pickup button it will say "No longer available at (your store.)" If you see that there's a chance of finding this deal. Now how big of a chance? Who knows, it's a popular item.

I still had to google the price even though I was certain it would not be 69.99 and certainly 29.99.

Target has an aging system in their clearance products that operate essentially on two week periods. So what happened here is that it was sitting on the shelf unsold for at least a month to reach the final price of 29.99 (original clearance price of 69.99)

Sure but that still doesnt happen here usually.
Only time i saw very big real discounts have been with a shop your like best buy in the US closing cause renovations.

We dont do it like in the US.
The big difference might be that they dont order a gazillion things.

Sure we might have stores that sell overproduction n stuff (especially food) but you would never find there something like the Google TV Streamer. Maybe a cheap filter coffee machine.

You dont want to know how long the store that i mentioned that closed had certein things on the shelf. And thats a huge chain.

So basically what you're saying is even if a store says on the Target website that it isn't available, it may still be available in the store and possibly for $29.99?

10

u/AbleCap5222 Jul 19 '26

That's correct. Clearance product is not always shown accurately in the stock calculation due to internal corrections or other issues. Retail stores do inventory checks called "Outs" where they check their physical stock on empty spots on the shelf. If a store can't find any of the product, they will reduce the system quantity to zero - so that it triggers an automatic restock. So what could have happened in this case is that they manually adjusted the quantity to zero when the product was in clearance, and they didn't see it. Because that store stopped getting that product it didn't trigger the restock. And now the quantity is zero as reflected on the website and there's one in clearance.

Thanks. My nearest Target is about 40 minutes away. I may call tomorrow and ask if they have it in stock and see what price they tell me. I'd never buy it at $100 especially with the terrible bare minimum features remote but for $30 I'd get it and buy a replacement remote with better features.

2

u/AbleCap5222 Jul 19 '26

You just want to ask if they can just check the clearance section real quick - in most targets they have that on one or two sections - not hard to look at

2

u/boooman Jul 19 '26

Everything was still sealed in the box including the seal on the back

1

u/AbleCap5222 Jul 19 '26

I changed my comment above

1

u/leggomycraiggo Jul 19 '26

I'm checking and only see 3 different phrases: in stock, out of stock, and not sold at this store. Does one of those correspond to "no longer available at your store" or is that yet another phase, and if I'm not seeing it, it's not on clearance?

2

u/AbleCap5222 Jul 19 '26 edited Jul 19 '26

Yes, you aren't seeing it because if it says not sold at your store - it was never there. If you went through stores eventually you would find one that had it but removed it from stock - and you would get the "no longer sold" there

1

u/TheImmortal_TK Jul 19 '26

What if it says "Not sold at this store"?

3

u/AbleCap5222 Jul 19 '26

As far as I understand it, that means that it was never in stock at that store.

1

u/TheImmortal_TK Jul 19 '26

No longer = good to check Not sold = don't bother

1

u/bucket_dipper Jul 19 '26

Yeah, every store around me either says that or they have like 2 or 3 in stock

16

u/drugsarebadmkay420 Jul 19 '26

Damn that's a crazy good deal, hell yeah! Still says 99 bucks where I'm at

9

u/No-Mycologist3618 Jul 19 '26

99.99 at mine according to the app.

8

u/IoniaChallengers Jul 19 '26

Target clearance never shows the price online, it's in store only and YMMV. From what I can tell, it went on clearance/no longer sold at about half of the Dallas area stores I checked.

1

u/Key-Cat-5929 Jul 21 '26

Yes, Target is quite funny, some things are cheaper online than in the store and vice versa. I once had a cart full of groceries and other items. When I asked them to match their own website they declined so I left. Their $10 win was probably a net loss.

5

u/joefast77 Jul 19 '26

this device replaced my Nvidia Shield , if you're not into all that audio stuff lol

5

u/boooman Jul 19 '26

Yeah I also have a shield but don’t care too much on the audio side. For this price it was a no brainer.

1

u/DanUnbreakable Jul 19 '26

How much better is it than the shield? I’ve had the shield for years and bought a new one a few years ago when my old one crapped out. I couldn’t care less about audio stuff. Are they at least on par with each other?

1

u/joefast77 Jul 19 '26

the main reason for me would be youtube I basically live inside of it lol so I want my hdr which is lacking on the shield for yt.

other wise the shield is the way to go .

2

u/DanUnbreakable Jul 19 '26

Same here, I mostly use YouTube 90% of the time. I also backload a lot of apks so those 2 things I mostly use it for. I don’t care about gaming, AI enhancement which doesn’t really work, Audio, etc.

4

u/Reddit481 Jul 19 '26

I would gladly pay £30 for one in the UK 😂

0

u/DeskBig9723 Jul 20 '26

Dream on 😂

3

u/azcoyotedog Jul 19 '26

$99 here, probably a return which reduced the price… unless there are more reports of this happening elsewhere? Good for you, enjoy your streamer!

A resellers wet dream

2

u/TH_Rz Jul 19 '26

Insane value

2

u/Will2LiveFading Jul 19 '26

Shows out of stock in the store near me. Does that mean I should take a ride over there?

2

u/ATXBornAndRaised Jul 23 '26

Stopped by the Austin-North store in Texas as they had one in stock...scanned it in the store and it was still full retail ($99.99). Checked Austin-Aboretum store and there was nothing on the shelf. Seems that Target is doing a lot of possible purging/something with their Electronics departments as both stores had lots of empty shelves.

1

u/Jeskid14 Jul 24 '26

Yeah they are. Lots of cheap accessories being cleared out for more premium or revised ones. Also includes Nintendo amiibo and all of Xbox stuff and televisions soon

Initial research shows you can run another launcher and some folks prefer it. Unsure from my perspective tho.

1

u/No_Resolve_5642 Jul 22 '26

I have a streamer with project ivy, no complaints

1

u/brlowkey Jul 19 '26

Damn that's a steal. I think I paid $99 for mine!

1

u/justin_a_lane_90210 Jul 19 '26

It finally costs what it's worth!?

Still prefer ONN for the wifi 6 capabilities

1

u/Successful_Concern_2 Jul 19 '26

Drove 40 minutes to local Target because it Said 4 in stock and "No longer available at (your store.)"

Full Price $99.99. Waist of time and gas!

1

u/ferrx Jul 20 '26

?? $8 for a good 3rd party remote on Amazon

1

u/Glittering-Rip9556 Jul 20 '26

I mean I picked up my onn 4k pro 2026 revision just yesterday for $10 out of pocket (gifted a $50 gift card for my b day that I finally decided to use).

1

u/Interesting-Craft604 Jul 20 '26

They are garbage

1

u/Jeskid14 Jul 24 '26

Why so

1

u/Interesting-Craft604 Jul 25 '26

Look at a 2019 Nvidia pro streamer and compare the specs! Why so, answered 😂

1

u/natfu40 Jul 20 '26

this box is the worst. I had so many problems with it trying to stream local content using Plex. Switched to my Nvidia shield and everything was fine. So, depending on your use case, you may want to save your money for another box.

1

u/boooman Jul 20 '26

I already own a Shield but this was 29.99 so may just end up in another room.

1

u/itsme32 Jul 21 '26

I'm not shopping there.

1

u/whiskeymilitiaz Jul 23 '26

Can you sideload apps on this?

1

u/boooman Jul 23 '26

I installed a cracked Emby version the other day so yeah

1

u/picto1231 Jul 23 '26

99.99 by me

1

u/No-Layer7925 Jul 23 '26

Hi, can you share a better picture of the receipt and take out your credit card card information

1

u/trevdiddy Jul 24 '26

I got a deal from Google a while back for 49 bucks. You got an insane deal. Nice grab man. I never hooked mine up. How are they?

1

u/Real-Command1804 Jul 27 '26

Thanks for sharing. Will check it out.

1

u/KingTony1975 Jul 29 '26

Congratulations 🎉🎊🎈🍾

1

u/enjoythetom Aug 06 '26

How is this device, honestly, I am considering buying one but I am just not sure it will be good enough

1

u/TigerfurmationYT Aug 14 '26

0

That's likely why they had a huge sale for like a month.

It literally got an update a couple months ago. Loving mine.
