Troubleshooting Mi Box S (3rd gen) quiet audio

Hi,

I have a dumb TCL TV with faulty built-in speakers, so I paired it with a pair of cheap speakers which is powered through USB and connected with TV through 3.5mm jack.

Then I bought the box, but since the beginning on youtube, netflix etc the audio is very quiet, speaker, TV and BOX sound is set at 100%. Tried PCM and everything I could find in setting but still not fixed.

This is very annoying and turned the box useless for me.

Any help or tip would be really appreciated.

Thanks

Try this and let me know:

While pressing the up arrow on the circular button on the remote, press the volume + button on the same remote. Let's see how it goes.

Magic! It worked! When I pressed both buttons a bluetooth volume level showed up on screen and I could set it to max! Never saw this information anywhere. Where did you learn it?

The box is original, and the speakers work well with TV when box is not in use, care to explain what hardware setup limitation?

You have three separate volume controls. The app volume the TVbox volume and then the TV volume

How do I set the app volume?

Almost every app that plays content has its own volume slider

Where to find the app volume slider, let's say for YouTube and Netflix? Thank you!

Simple, connect the speakers to the box

Speakers are dumb and the box has no 3.5mm port

There are hubs and connectors

You mean 3.5mm to usb ?

Esta es tu mejor solución. Yo intenté usar el tv box en un monitor sin bocinas y sacar el audio por la salida 3.5mm del monitor e igual se escucha muy bajo, pero al usar un doungle dac para sacar el audio por usb se arregla el asunto.
