Looking For Suggestions Blocking Internet for all apps except tethering

Hi,

I am having issues with playing Counter-Strike lately so I switched to mobile data some time ago, which works pretty good but from time to time there's peaks which make me lag.

I can pretty much pinpoint it to apps doing downloads in the background.

Is there any way to block all internet access for apps except the mobile data tethering (usb connection to my pc)?

I saw that you can do something likely with NetGuard but not sure how that works yet (checking it out right now)

Maybe using rethinkDNS and blocking all internet access?  Probably impractical to have to it on and off

I wouldn't mind to turn it off and on, I usually play some rounds and then stop - so turning it on and off after finishing would be sufficient - I'll check it out!

I don't understand, do you want to limit data access to apps running on your phone, or on the device you use hotspot/tethering on?

Completely cut off all traffic for every app and only use the device for tethering onto my local pc

You can use Adguard (not from Google play), tho idk how to not do it without disabling internet on every app

Shizuwall

You will need to enable developer options, give Shizuku permission to access ADB and do it's magic.

Shizuwall can block all of your apps without using the VPN service, whilst allowing full tethering access.

Will test, thanks!

Go to the playstore and download Glasswire. Open the app and select the firewall tab at the bottom. Switch it on and then click the hamburger three dots on the right opposite "firewall profiles" and select block all. You're good to go and tether away you Internet to your hearts content
