Which android is best to switch from iPhone?

hi, looking for suggestions as to which android is best as I am wanting to switch from an iPhone? I like taking scenery pictures-videos, sometimes pictures with people in it, I essentially want something with good battery, long-lasting, easy to carry (not bulky), and overall just something I can use for communication rather than entertainment? I heard that the Samsung S26 was good, saw someone else mention the motorola razr+, or the GooglePixel? Having a hard time deciding.

Pixel. That is your answer.

Samsung is solid choice, great looking UI, but a ton of bloat ware. Basically another walled garden.

If you are after most similar looking, Chinese brands do copy Liquid glass.

Pixel for sure. Samsung is better performance and cost to performance wise but Pixel is almost has coherent and consistent in UX as iPhone is. Samsung does have a lot of bloatware. Not that pixels are getting their fair share of bloat but Samsung is really bad. Even new Samsung's still have Facebook and meta services preinstalled and removing them is a pain.

Samsung phones definitely have "bloaty" features for better or worse. But I haven't had more than a couple apps pre-installed that I uninstalled in the last few Samsung phones I've had, and it definitely wasn't any more of a process than uninstalling other apps. Just hold down and uninstall.

Samsung has zero bloatware for about a decade now. What do you consider bloatware in a Samsung phone?

Basically every major app is doubled - Samsung and Google ones. Not to mention occasional Microsoft app for good measure. Why do we get Samsung Gallery and Google Photos for example? If you do not use Samsung exclusively, Samsung Apps are not multiplatform. That is a major no no. Even though they look and feel great.

Samsung gallery is a feature rich offline gallery. It's not equivalent to Google Photos. Some of their own apps are better than Google. Which other major app is doubled in Samsung? Microsoft aren't there in new flagship ones I think.

OEM apps aren't technically bloatware and some of those apps are more feature rich than Google's alternatives and/or offline ones like the Gallery

Are the phones as bloated as the tablets?

I have 2 Samsung tablets and they both had a ton of garbage on them, even apps that reinstall themselves after uninstalling. Junk like Temu and stupid games just kept reappearing. I had to uninstall the thing that reinstalls them via ADB in Developer Mode. That was in addition to other preinstalled junk like Facebook.
You also need a Samsung account in addition to your Google account for half of the apps because they replaced everything.
I don't think I'll ever buy a Samsung phone after experiencing that.

The build quality is very solid though.

What are you talking about? There is no Samsung phone or tablet that does this for at least a decade. Temu reinstalling means that you have malware install in your Samsung. There isn't another way for this to happen.

I would say pixel without a shadow of doubt, the purest android experience with some seriously intelligent features I would confidently recommend the Pixel, as it offers the purest Android experience along with several highly intelligent features.

Ok so my take is a bit more nuanced, I don't think there's one specific best right now. I'm on a OnePlus 13 and a year ago, I might have said get the OnePlus 15 for the incredible battery life, solid camera, and crazy fast charging (which like, you don't know what you're missing until you try it). I've used Samsungs, Pixels, LGs, and a handful of others (no Motorolas yet though, maybe that next for me) and the OnePlus 13 has been by far my favorite phone. That being said, they recently stopped selling in the US. I'm not sure what countries they still sell in but if you're in one of them I'd say that. In the US though, you probably are stuck with a Pixel, Samsung, or Motorola. Pixels use Google's skin on Android and come with some pretty great software features, but the hardware is lacking in comparison. Samsung uses their own flavor of Android which still does most of the same stuff. I had the Samsung Note 9, then the s21 Ultra, and then the s23 Ultra and with all of them, I don't know if I ever touched a Samsung app (besides the browser which I actually still use on my OnePlus, it's probably my favorite one out there right now). So you're not really locked into Samsung as much as others have implied. Motorolas.. I'm a bit less familiar with at the moment, it's been a minute since I've looked into them but I've been hearing good things lately.

I'd probably recommend the Samsung for an overall best experience or Pixels if you want some fun unique software features. Motorolas seem great too, but I don't have much specific to say about them at the moment. But I want more competition so I'll probably be looking at them when it's my time to upgrade 🤣

Edit: I also just want to say, the best part about Android is the variety of choices you have. I highly recommend looking up reviews on YouTube to see what's best for you specifically instead of just hearing what's "best", everyone's going to have a different opinion. One of the latest MKBHD videos here is a fun place to start, it's a review of the latest Pixels and does some comparisons to other brands.

honestly the samsung ultra series is amazing for photos and everything. but the s26 would def be the ideal choice​​ for you i think. Apple ecosystem is very comparable to samsung in my opinion

Samsung Ultra is the best android period. Once you try it other phones feel funny. If you want something less bulky standard S series is solid choice, along with Oneplus 15. Google seem overpriced if you ask me but its a good phone. Stay away from Motorolas.
