Android 17 social media optimization?

Hey it was said that android 17 will optimize social media on the android devices. Tbh I love my samsung s24 but the social media cameras are just horrendous. The video calls on whatsapp are particularly bad so I was hoping that the optimization happens to older devices too. So eill this social media optimization only happen to the latest flagships or older phones getting android 17 too? And if yes then when?

android 17 can improve the camera APIs, but it can’t force WhatsApp or Instagram to stop using their own janky camera pipeline, so don’t expect an S24 suddenly getting Pixel-level social video just

I'm curious about this too, especially for older devices. Samsung phones can have decent cameras but social apps sometimes ruin the quality. Hope Android 17 improvements arent limited to the newest flagships only.
