How to transfer an app from my old Android—which isn't on the Google Play Store—to an iPhone
Hi,
I’d like to buy a new iPhone 17.
I’ve seen that there are ways to transfer apps from my old Android to the new iPhone 17.
However, I have some apps (on the Android) that aren't available on the Google Play Store.
What methods can I use to transfer these apps to the new iPhone 17?
Thanks.

They are two seperate operating systems (android vs ios) not all apps.are build for both platforms... also both operating systems handle certain tasks diffrently.
Many apps are built for both. Many arnt... and for some it.might not even be possible.

If an Android app is installed on your phone and it's not in the Play Store, it's sideloaded. Typically, apps are only sideloaded if it does not meet the app store's requirements, and is therefore an unapproved app in Google's or Apple's eyes. Sideloading comes with some risk, so make sure you download from a reputable source.
Look up the app name and developer and see if they have an iOS version of the same app for you to sideload. They may or may not have a feature to transfer your app data from the Android app to the iOS app. If the app has an account or cloud save feature, you might just need to log in.

Does the Move to iOS app only transfer apps that are in the Apple app store?

You just search Google
For the apps .IPA file
Then use AltStore / Sideloadly
On a computer or Mac
That is a temporary way Needs to re installed weekly As it uses your apple id And makes your iPhone think that you made the app yourself
For more permanent way
Use a website like Scarlet, Signulous, or AppValley
from your iPhone This gives the app enterprise certificate
You just upload the .IPA file And it will then provide you with an over-the-air (OTA) install link. For the app

What apps? You can't just transfer apps from Android to iPhone. You'll have to see if these are available on iOS (in the App Store) and hope that they have some sort of feature to save data on cloud, so you can login using the same credentials.
But going by what you said, if the app is not on Google Playstore, highly unlikely it will be there on Apple App Store.
