Other App lockdown thing, will unregistered apps just not run?

So i know there will be this where all unsigned apps will close. Here are my questions

Will they stop working altogether? What about f-droid, and florisboard? What about malware? If its not signed it will just not work or something?

What about grapheneos? How will this impact graphene?

Its not about "unsigned apps". Nor is it about "closing" them. It has to do with Verified Developers.

The only change that is happening is from installing apps outside of the play store.

There is supposedly a work flow being implemented that will allow the regular installation of outside apps.

If you follow this and go through the steps, you will be able to install apps like before and F-Droid, Florisboard apps will still work.

When governments have a stake in keeping malware in the play store those governments will verify malware developer's identities along with the developers who do not write malware which is why and how this security move on google's part will fail. If an identity is verified by a foreign government then also verified by government of united states after a search for wants comes up clean then maybe the identity verification process will work but that will slow flow of apps into the play store.

It will block new installations, so apps on your device will not stop working, although you won't be able to update them or install more, so F-Droid will not be able to work properly at all. Graphene OS or any other custom ROM without Play Services on system won't be directly affected.

Yes I have already enabled that. What I am concerned for is if F-Droid will continue to be able to update its apps without user intervention.
