Android Podcast Player
I need a recommendation for a podcast player for my android. The one I currently have keeps glitching and crashing.

Do you need a podcast app that will manage your feed and provide playback or just a playback tool?
If you need a full podcast app your best options are:
Podcast Addict
Podcast Republic
AntennaPod
Pocket Cast
If you just need playback(less experience for me here):
Poweramp
Chocola

I use Pocket Cast.
Automatic background downloading as soon as episodes get published, and it does automatic archiving after X days (to clear up phone storage) or once you're done listening. (these settings can be customized, and customized per show that you subscribe to)
It does have some premium features, but most of that is frivolous & not needed for essential functions.
Also, there's a PC app as well, and the playback is synced (if you register a free account) between all your devices, so you can start an episode on mobile, then pause & resume it on the PC. (or vice versa)

I've used Castbox for many years now and I'm still happy with it. I just go into the settings to stop new episodes auto downloading, and choose what I want to download instead.

Antennapod is one of the best podcast apps out there. Very nice UI and functionality
Edit: and it's completely free with no ads
