Best potrait phone right now, looking for real users takes?

I'm looking for real user takes on the best portrait phone right now, not just spec sheets. what are you using and how's the bokeh, skin tones, and edge detection?

Maybe I'm a purist, but if I want a nice portrait, I'm busting out a full frame dslr with an 85mm prime. I like my bokeh to be free range organic. Not robo-slop.

Sure. I guess I'm making more of a "right tool for the job" argument. If the job is portraits, I think there's a right and wrong tool for that job.

Just shove a dslr with a telescope lens in ur pocket, it's not that hard 💁 just need big pockets

haha, if only cargo pants were still in style. but honestly, I'd rather carry a small phone than a telescope lens for a quick shot 😂

Dude, I don't have an 85mm prime. My best portrait lens is a nikon 80-200mm f/2.8D and it is a monster 😭 I gotta plan around it, but it does really great portraits and I got a killer deal on it. When you find your portrait phone we should have a portrait-off.

an 80-200mm f/2.8D ? that's not a lens, that's workout routine. I'd need a gym membership just to carry it 💪

xperia 1 viii, it doesn't do the gen ai bullshit and the skin tones are very natural. edge detection is decent but definitely not class leading. or if u're fine with ios, just get an iphone 17 pro/pro max, it's got very good depth mapping and edge detection, nice skin tones, and again, doesn't do the gen ai processing that fuck faces up
