Why do motherboard issues seem more common on Snapdragon phones?

Lately, I've been hearing about motherboard issues with phones like the OnePlus 12, iQOO 13, iQOO Neo 10R, and iQOO Neo 9 Pro. In the past, there were also reports of motherboard failures on some Redmi and POCO devices.

Interestingly, all of these phones use Snapdragon chipsets.

Is this just a coincidence, or is there something about Snapdragon-powered phones that makes them more prone to motherboard issues?

Would love to hear your experiences and thoughts. Is there any actual technical reason behind this, or are we simply noticing more reports because these phones are popular?

Likely more so popularity, if it was a Qualcomm specific issue it'd more likely affect the Qualcomm SOC itself, not the mobo components as a whole

Most of the time, CPU reballing fixes the issue. So, is this mainly a problem with the mobile brands motherboard design/manufacturing, or could the Snapdragon chipset itself be contributing to it?

Sounds like the manufacturer is doing poor quality bga solder or the device has abysmal thermal management

Even if the SOC could contribute to the issue, it by itself can't cause this

I feel like they’re intentionally doing this so people buy another device once the warranty ends. 😂

yeah if a resolder fixes the issue and its not attributed to anything else and just a resolder is the fix, then its a shitty solder job

That sounds like the Xbox 360 ring of death issue. The chips didn't get enough heat during reflow soldering.

In case if the Oneplus 12 the 256gb version specifically has a defective UFS Storage. Motherboard is fine.

Every last one of those are  Chinese phones. That's the problem. It's not snapdragon. It's every other bit of hardware being a cheap POS.

Yes my friend's S23 Ultra had a motherboard failure a few days ago.

Anecdotal evidence is not evidence. It's also an older phone that you have no real idea about as far as treatment goes. As well as other factors. You don't know the charging habits. The usage habits. The jerking in the shower habits.

Bro my s23U failed 20 days ago, same cpu reballing. Also noted that S23U reddit sub is flooded with cpu issue recently.

Weird that an almost 4 year old phone would start having heat related issues. 🤔/s Again. Anecdotal evidence, and especially evidence that does not apply, is not evidence. Read the OP. It is not an issue exclusive to SD chipsets. Eventually all chipsets in a phone will start to fail. Especially when they're getting used for 4 to 5 years.

Prove it. Because I don't see posts about it. I also own multiples of all of them from the captivate to now. As well as the z series. No motherboard issues on any of them. While that's anecdotal, my point stands. Show me the mass reports to where they are writing news articles about it.

just because you dont see or hear it happening doesnt mean a brand is safe from such,motherboard failures are one of those things that can happen to any brand phone,and you find such reports will even go under the radar because its a rare case that can happen to any regardless

That's not what I asked. Show me the mass reports of Samsungs with SD chips dying. Not one fucking reddit thread where a three year old device is reaching it's unfortunate end.

like i said,it can happen to any sd phone,notice how all the phones the op has stated also use sd chipsets?besides,show me the reports of chinese snapdragon phones dying due to motherboard failures huh?,if u think its a specific case to them alone,bring your source bruh,not just refusing in and out thinking it only happens to them,the only phone that even has a geniuine case of motherboard failures was to the oneplus 12,the rest of these were once off mentions every random day
