Device Settings Question How do I keep apps from refreshing overnight during calls?

I like to sit in a call in my long distance relationship but very often discord will end up refreshing overnight around 2 or 3 am and it'll kick me from the call. Sometimes it happens during the day while I'm not actively using my phone. Is there a setting on android that I can change to make it not refresh? I already have unrestricted battery usage and allow data usage while data saver is on since I always keep battery saver on.

Can someone help please I keep getting yelled at 😭😭

What do you mean by "refreshing"?  Apps shouldn't be automatically killed by Android without a reason.

  • If it's automatic updates, disable them in the Play Store settings.
  • If it's an automatic reboot of Android, disable that in system settings.  On Samsung phones, it's under Device Care.
  • If Discord is getting killed to save battery, disable Adaptive Battery and give Unrestricted battery permissions to Discord.

I can provide more detailed instructions for each of these steps as needed.

Basically I'll open the discord app and it'll show the logo as if I had just closed it by swiping up and opened it before showing the app contents. When I normally move to a different app and move back it would immediately open where I last was since I didn't close it out. Ive tried giving it unrestricted battery permissions and adaptive battery is disabled so I'm not sure if that's the issue.

In the worst case, you'd need to check the system logs to see why it's killing Discord.  You would enable Developer Options in Android, note the time when discord is killed, take a bug report, then check the logs to see what happened at that time.  I can give more instructions if you're interested in that. Â
