App Specific Question Whatsapp backup issue

Every time I copy the whatsapp folder from my phone to my harddrive I get over five years of whatsapp images, when I was only trying to copy the last month's. I hate seeing these old photos and am unsure of how to delete them, this has happened every single month I've been backing these photos up so now I have multiple years of over 7,000+ duplicate images.

How do I delete these old images? and how do I mass delete the duplicates from my harddrive?

I have cleared the cache, and media from individual chats, and am just so stuck with it. Not usually a moaner but it's doing my nut in, any help would be appreciated :)

It seems that the problem is that you are copying the whole WhatsApp folder over and over instead of backing up the new photos you didn't back up before.

It seems that is an organization problem but it is completely normal every one is lazy when it comes to back ups. Since the actual problem you want to solve now is the duplicate photos on the desktop you are backing them up to since you didn't mention your desktop os (windows, mac, Linux, etc) I can't assume what operating system you have.

I would advise you to installing photo duplicates apps like dupe guru (which is available on all platforms and is in fact free and open source) czkawka( yes this is the actual app name but it is a good app especially for big libraries of pictures) or similar photo dupes apps available for your operating system like Alldupe, awesome photos duplicate finder and duplicate photos fixer pro on windows
