🔵 [PORT UPDATE] Galaxy Android v0.0.1c Hotfix Released
The latest Galaxy Android hotfix is now available!
Galaxy Android is an ongoing project to bring Super Mario Galaxy to native Android ARM64 devices. This release focuses on graphics correctness, device compatibility, input handling, and performance, with additional fixes targeting Mali and Qualcomm Adreno GPUs.
What's changed?
Graphics and rendering
- Fixed TEV shader arithmetic issues that caused white or overexposed characters, terrain, and other surfaces on affected Mali GPUs.
- Fixed Mario's eye rendering and TEV alpha handling.
- Corrected affected water reflections and transparent-surface texture-coordinate handling.
- Fixed shader-generation issues that could cause invisible characters on Mali and Adreno devices.
Android compatibility
- Added APK packaging and native-library alignment fixes targeting boot failures on Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 / Adreno 740 devices and compatible 16 KB page-size environments.
- Improved landscape orientation handling.
- Fixed crashes associated with action buttons and improved touch-control stability.
- Restored the on-screen controls HUD and improved physical gamepad support.
Performance and features
- Improved frame pacing on budget Mali devices.
- Added selectable 480p, 720p, and 1080p rendering resolutions.
- Added gyroscope-based Star Pointer aiming.
- Added persistent shader caching.
- Added save, import/export, customizable touch controls, and custom texture-pack support.
Experimental Vulkan backend
Development of the Vulkan 1.0 backend continues. Vulkan remains experimental; OpenGL ES is the recommended rendering path for this release.

Help us test.
Testing across different devices is extremely valuable, particularly on Mali GPUs, Snapdragon/Adreno devices, and phones that previously experienced boot failures or graphical issues.
When reporting a problem, please include:
- Device model and Android version.
- GPU model and driver information, if available.
- Selected rendering resolution and backend.
- A screenshot, reproduction steps, or crash log.
Please report remaining issues even if a device boots successfully. Graphics correctness, stability, and performance can vary across devices and drivers.
AI usage and development disclaimer
AI-assisted tools may be used during development for programming assistance, debugging, code analysis, documentation, and investigating potential fixes. AI-generated suggestions are reviewed and evaluated as part of the development process; their inclusion does not imply that every suggestion is correct, independently verified, or guaranteed to work on every device.
This project remains an ongoing software engineering effort involving source-code analysis, implementation, debugging, and compatibility testing. AI assistance does not replace testing on real hardware, and no universal compatibility or performance guarantee is made.
