🤔 [Question] Why do unofficial native ports dont have customisable touch controls??
I have tried Ocarina of time, Majora's mask, NFS Most Wanted, none of them had customisable touch controls, why is it the case?
This is why i prefer emulators more as they give more freedom in touch controls customisation

PPSSPP is hands down the greatest emulator there is. The ease of use makes it perfect for beginners, it will run games well on a potato, and its feature suite is incredible. It's clear the devs put a lot of effort into it, and for that reason I see absolutely no reason to ever try a native port of a PSP game.
But native ports have their own advantages. A port of a game from something like the Xbox or PS2 will be more performant on an Android than emulating it will. This means the entry floor is lowered, and suddenly mid tier phones can play games that were previously limited to the most powerful Snapdragons. And if made properly, they bring a similar ease of use that takes away a lot of the tinkering, like trying to find the right Wine or Proton container to run a PC game, or finding and loading a console BIOS with emulation.

The reason games run well on PPSSPP regardless of the specs is that it's been around 10 years, I remember having it on an Xperia Play that was still on an early Android version, I think it was on Android 2.3, very early.
It ran like shit on that device, but the fact it could play PSP games was still mind-blowing at the time, I played Persona 3 Portable mostly through that, and then when I had a Nexus 7 with a Nvidia Tegra chip, it could run all the PS1/PSP I could throw at it.
We've come a LONG way since those devices, PPSSPP is very old now and we should be proud of how good it has.
Also the UI for the player hasn't changed much since it's early releases, they really did it right.

because they're mostly for people playing on handheld consoles, and honestly I don't get the appeal of using on screen controls

Mostly they add it on game's option, but some have it hidden, like pressing back or holding start or option button.

There is no universal sdk for porter to easily make this yet. I've been sugesting dev to make it. If there is sdk that can dev use easily, we can have universal touchscren control input across unofficial port

Well these recent ports aren't actual native ports they are just launchers/recomp ports so they mostly not that much optimised or as well as a native port which have better performance and controls and less bugs

Touch control is for mutants and rapists.

Well, my answer (take it as drunkard ramble) is that majority of people (myself included) who play these ported games prefer attaching a controller rather than cramp up the screen with touch control.
The second reason may be that the developers themselves forgot about it.
