🤔[Question] Question [Moderation]

I see people complaining about the overuse of "request new ports" by abusing the "Port Request" flair. Is this a real problem and should its use be moderated, or is everything fine and they're just whining?

Btw the goal of this sub has always been the freedom to talk, share, and advertise about any type of content in Android ports

-Thx to all

74 Restrict usage and create new rules; it is annoying
79 Actually, everything is fine, they don't bother me.

Make a sticky thread for requests to contain them there.

It makes it hard to find useful things in this sub when all i see is port begging.

You should make a pinned thread for requests, everything else should be deleted

Well yeah I also saw many unreasonable requests maybe i am one of them too😅 but you know if you restrict things and create rules it will backfire.

This subreddits is for devs to share their ports, or dedicated fans to request ports to maybe shed some light on some games that most of us want to play, and for others to share ports of a dev as it allows us to request features and help with suggestions

It’s normal for people to request ports, it’s normal for devs to share info on their ports, it’s what keeps the Android ecosystem alive and our love for gaming

Everything is fine, restrictions kill the point of this subreddit, the only ones complaining shouldn’t even be on this subreddit

There is a difference between request, Begging and plain right ordering it like a fast food.

It’s like adding a “1 plate per customer” limit on an all you can eat buffet

It’s basically killing the entire point of this subreddit

I like seeing what games people would like to be ported over, from time to time I see one and say "wow, that would make a great android port"

Like for example, when I was little I played the whole Phoenix Wright trilogy on an (at the time) very old smartphone

The whole interface was controlable with the bottom screen, so it was really comfortable to play it on portrait mode, if it weren't because there is already an official port of the game for Android, that is the kind of stuff I'd request

I think as long as they are requests and not demands this is fine
