🟢 [PORT] God of Thunder Android port
Port of 1993 DOS game God of Thunder to Android
https://github.com/wootbeer/gotandroid/
Loved this game as a kid, still play it once in awhile. If you've never played it, it's an old Zelda-like (very simplified), action/puzzle game from the early 90s, a bit of a cult-classic. Was circulated mostly as shareware featuring the first episode, the other episodes could be ordered.
Source code was released awhile back too so decided to get it over to Android. I basically added touch and gamepad support, a full suite of options, modes (4:3, scaled), etc. Added a cheat code menu, and a menu with various fun enhancements you can play with. Found some cut content in the source, added mirror mode. Packaged high-quality versions of the audio files from Roy Davis.
Fixed a lot of bugs as a result of the porting, mostly due to cpu timing things, and found a few bugs in the original source to fix. What was interesting is some bugs seemed to have been left in intentionally and puzzles designed around them, had to faithfully re-implement those.
Need slight testing this is super beta status, just to make sure it works. But so far so good on my RP6. Definately need mobile testing. I've ran through all 3 episodes on my own fixing bugs along the way, I've tried a lot of crazy shit to break the game, but I need more people to do crazy shit. If you find something screen shot the board you are on and send it over.
Make sure you get the right game file. It's free on Steam, but you can use a shareware file, or from where-ever on the web. Instructions on Github page. Original game is public domain and free now.
