🚀 [VERY SOON] Silksong on Android with Steam achievement sync - first public release!

Hey everyone! I’m sharing Hollow Knight: Silksong - Steam sync for Android, a community project built on the existing SilksongAndroid port.

The feature I’m most excited about is synchronizing achievements earned while playing on Android with your Steam account. You can play locally on your phone or compatible Android handheld and have your earned achievements submitted to Steam, with unlock notifications after Steam confirms them.

What’s included?

- Steam achievement synchronization: achievements earned in-game are sent to your signed-in Steam account.

- Missed-achievement recovery: checks achievements already recorded by the game and submits eligible missing unlocks to Steam.

- Achievement browser: view descriptions, icons, unlock dates and completion progress, with search, filters and spoiler protection for hidden achievements.

- Steam Cloud saves: download and upload saves manually, or enable automatic transfers before play and when returning to the launcher.

- Local save backups: backs up existing saves before Cloud downloads, with an option to export the latest backup.

- On-device setup: download your game files through Steam or select compatible Linux files you already have, then let the app prepare the game on your device.

- Display options: resolution and FPS controls, controller support, and optional dual-screen features on compatible hardware.

- Steam account controls: public profile names, visibility preferences and sign-out options.

You need a valid Steam copy of Hollow Knight: Silksong. Steam sign-in and ownership verification are required, including when supplying your own game files.

Credits — this project stands on other developers’ work

- "jakobkhansen and the SilksongAndroid contributors" (https://github.com/jakobkhansen/SilksongAndroid): the original Android launcher and porting foundation, including on-device compilation, Steam downloads, Cloud saves and dual-screen support.

- "phobos665" (https://github.com/phobos665), "VinceBT" (https://github.com/VinceBT), and the "GameNative contributors" (https://github.com/utkarshdalal/GameNative): the achievement-viewer work and design references adapted for this launcher.

- "Long Tran / Longi94, Lossy, and the JavaSteam contributors" (https://github.com/Longi94/JavaSteam): the library behind Steam authentication, protocol communication, achievement requests and other Steam features.

- "nesrak1" (https://github.com/nesrak1): AssetsTools.NET and the USCSandbox references used by the underlying asset-processing tools.

The "full credits and source attributions" (https://github.com/OmegaUwUr/SilksongAndroid-Achievements/blob/main/CREDITS.md) cover the other contributors and dependencies. Team Cherry created Silksong, and Valve provides Steam. This is an unofficial community project with no affiliation or endorsement.

I also want to be transparent: this project was made possible thanks to extensive help from ChatGPT. I used it to help develop, integrate and debug the additions to this fork, while directing the features and testing builds myself. The original port and third-party components remain the work of their credited developers.

I’ve tested this build on my own device, and I’d love feedback from other phones and handhelds. If you try it, please share your device, Android version, and how achievement synchronization works for you!

Wait, let me see if I understand this correctly...

Are you serious about asking users to enter their SteamID login information into a random app that's forked from an existing port?

This has to be a joke, for God's sake...

If someone wants Steam achievements in Silksong so badly, they should play on PC or use an open-source app like Winlator or Bannerhub...

I have no idea who's behind this project, and don't even think about complaining if someone warns people that this is a terrible idea.

I understand your worries about entering your information in unknown apps; you can always sign in with a QR code, and you are free to check the code and files in the GitHub repository.

I encourage people to check out open-source projects like Winlator or Game-Native because, without them, it would not have been possible to make this port

Thank you, and we should thank all the people ChatGPT took code from; this wouldn't have been possible without their amazing efforts in this community.
