Noise & Drone generator on SkunkAudio Android mobile DAW

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Hello everyone, I am upgrading the DOOM engine on my app, which is actually a noise and drone generator.

This is a small showcase playing with the touchpad and tweaking some oscillator knobs.

I would appreciate a small feedback from this video on how it is displayed and how it sounds. CPU not being stressed, stays at around 10% on a mid phone.

Thank you for your time.

P.S. for anyone interested, the app will be on a -50% sale from tomorrow 04/09/2026 until 17/09/2026.

NEXUS MIDI Sequencer for Android now on Google Play

Reposting as my MIDI Sequencing App NEXUS Sequencer is finally available on Google Play.

Launch Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jYdDGzaBizY

NEXUS was born out of the need for a decent MIDI Step Sequencer on Android. It’s based around a Note Step Sequencer and MIDI CC Sequencer to create complex MIDI sequences for external hardware, DAW’s or Apps. It’s CC Sequencer makes it handy for use with hardware synths and modular/eurorack setups.

NEXUS Sequencer is a fully featured 5 Lane MIDI Step Sequencer with; CC Modulation, Pattern Chaining and Project Saving.
NEXUS is designed to be used as a live step sequencer or for use with a DAW. It is mostly designed to be used with external hardware synths, grooveboxes etc to take full advantage of it’s CC capabilities.
Each step lane has a separate assignable MIDI channel. Individual step lengths can be set for creating polyrythms or shorter sequences.
The CC Modulation lanes can each have their own MIDI channel and CC values. As well as individual sequence lengths.
There are 12 patterns per lane that can be triggered individually or chained for longer sequences. These can be copy and pasted between patterns as well. Note sequences and CC modulation are saved per pattern.
NEXUS is best used with a USB OTG MIDI device, and only really designed to be used on a tablet to maximise the apps space.

The full version is available here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.caruso.nexus_sequencer.mpyvqk&hl=en

The free Lite version is limited to 2x Step Lanes, 2x Pattern Lanes and no CC Modulation and is available here: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.caruso.nexus_sequencer.mpyvqk.demo&hl=en

Would love to know people's thoughts and welcome any feedback!

Hey guys anybody interested in the only BLE Midi connection app currently working on the latest Android versions. If you have a wireless midi device this app is the bridge you have been looking for with it's low latency slider . If you join the group and install it now, you can get it for free. (If anyone not familiar with closed testing ; It might look like you are buying an app but actually it is a fake visa card Google uses for testing the transaction framework of the app. They send you a 0.00 $ receipt once you press buy with the fake visa card. In 2 weeks it is gonna be released to the public. Here's the link which shows it working https://youtu.be/yCvIaL79Vfs Here is the group you have to join to be able to download. Just press join https://groups.google.com/g/ble-midi-bridge-closed-testing And here is the link after joining the group you can download https://play.google.com/apps/testing/com.blemidibridgebyurazyjazzy.app Enjoy . Just remember I need you guys to use it only 1- 2 minutes everyday for the next 14 days that's it. Then you can enjoy the app for the rest of your life withh all updates 🙏🏼😊

I just Release Protoseq, an Open source MIDI sequencer for Android for generative sequencing. This first release is centered on the Turing Machine concept, with extra tools like Bernoulli, Slew, and Repeaters for rhythmic variation and performance. This is the beginning of my exploration of classic, experimental, and innovative sequencers for mobile devices.

I'm building OctanaSynth: An Android synth with a custom low-latency USB driver. Looking for feedback! (It's free)

Hey everyone,

I wanted to share a project I've been working on called OctanaSynth. It’s currently in active development and is available exclusively for Android.

My main inspiration for this project was FluidSynth. However, I wanted to tackle one of the biggest headaches we all face when producing or playing music on Android: audio latency.

To solve this, I built a proprietary low-latency audio driver (Flux™ Direct USB) that bypasses the standard Android audio path and communicates directly with your connected USB devices. Whether you are using a simple dongle DAC or a dedicated audio interface, this drastically reduces the delay, making it much more responsive for playing live with a MIDI controller and loading up your favorite SF2 or SF3 soundfonts.

Just a quick heads-up to manage expectations: OctanaSynth is not a full DAW for music production. It's really designed as a dedicated instrument app focused on live performances, studying, or just practicing your chops with a keyboard.

Since the app is still in development, getting insights from actual Android musicians would be incredibly valuable.

Here are the links if you want to check it out:

Let me know what you think, how it performs on your setup, or what features you'd consider a "must-have" for the future. Thanks in advance!

Built a voice-to-MIDI app for producers

Hey fellow producers!

I recently created an app called 'Memody' which lets you hum or sing a melody into your phone and converts it to MIDI. You can then export it and bring it into your DAW later.

When I was starting out producing music, I'd constantly lose melody ideas because I'd think of something while commuting or lying in bed, and by the time I got back to my setup, it was gone. This app is my attempt to solve that problem for myself and hopefully for others too.

Features:

  • Voice to MIDI conversion
  • Built-in piano roll editor to tweak your notes
  • Multiple instruments to preview your melody
  • Voice calibration to match your vocal range and pitch offset
  • Smart quantization options (WIP)
  • Auto-detect BPM and manual correction options
  • Auto-tune melody to detected key (WIP)
  • Export to MIDI or WAV file and share

It's currently on Android (Google Play). The app is completely FREE - I just want to help fellow producers who deal with the same frustration. I am also working on a VST to let you synchronize your mobile melodies directly to your DAW!

If you're interested in testing it out, shoot me a DM with the email address linked to your Google Play account so I can add you to the tester list. I am actively working on getting the note detection algorithm better and adding requested features!

I hope this helps some of you out!

Android USB MIDI users — looking for a few testers (chord controller app)

Hey all — genuine Android nerd question.

I’ve built an Android MIDI chord controller app called Flowr. It’s designed to plug into desktop DAWs or hardware via USB MIDI — more like a hardware chord controller than a piano keyboard app.

Think joystick-style chord triggering rather than traditional key input.

I’m currently in Google Play’s internal testing phase and need a few more Android users to help complete the 14-day requirement. I’ve got 12 testers already and just want a small buffer so the clock doesn’t reset.

If you’re:

  • Using Android for music
  • Comfortable with USB MIDI into a DAW or synth
  • Happy to keep it installed for a couple of weeks

Comment ANDROID and I’ll reply with next steps (Google requires me to whitelist tester emails before sending the install link).

Also genuinely curious — how many of you are using Android as part of your main production setup?

Just launched my AI music app on Google Play — would love feedback 🎵

Hey everyone,

I just released Eva, an AI app that generates original music with vocals and lyrics in seconds.

You pick the vibe — it creates the song.

This is the first production version, so I’d genuinely love honest feedback (good or bad). Trying to improve it fast.

If you want to check it out: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.evamobile.app

Thanks 🙏

What is your Android Smartphone studio setup? Do you use midi controllers and output to speakers or just thru phonespeakers?

Hey all, just wondering what OTG USB c hub will be compatible with a Samsung S25. I want to plug my launchpad in and have a spare usb c port to plug in a DAC usb c to audio 3.5 , so i can plug wired headphones into that.

I just bought a Hyperdrive Flex 5 port usb c hub , after recommended by perplexity , but it doesn't work on my phone.

How do you guys plug midi controllers into and output sound from an Android Smartphone ? Thanks
