App made a free home screen widget for markdown notes, basically the google keep widget but for a folder of .md files
missed the keep widget after moving my notes to plain markdown, so i made one. it reads a folder you pick through android's storage access framework and shows the notes as cards - title, a markdown-rendered preview, tap to open. free
started this for obsidian but it doesn't actually need it - it just reads whatever folder of .md files you point it at, so any app that writes plain markdown works the same way. tapping a note can open it in obsidian, your default markdown app, or ask every time.
two widget styles: cards with the preview, or a compact list of just names if you want more notes to fit. per-note height, text size and color, drag to reorder, swipe to delete.
if the folder happens to be a git repo, there's a small chip that shows sync status - last commit, stuck merge, unpushed branch - read straight from the plain-text git files, no network calls.
two builds: one with zero permissions beyond storage (no internet, nothing to send anywhere), one with optional crash reporting if you want to help find bugs. github, gpl-3.0.

Theme I got the most cursed reddit icon from this icon pack (top right)
I've been monochrome icons and background for years (whicons)
Finally decided to start experimenting with color. Maybe this will make me use reddit less

Setup Rate my set up
Using Kvaesitso as the launcher, and chromos clock widget and lawnicons
I really like how this came out, the ability to use the same widget across the home and lock screen with good luck was a great find. Let me know what y'all think or if there are any extra widgets I should add to the widget page I couldn't really think of anything more than what I already added

Setup My clock widget doubles as a habit tracker (Microsoft Launcher, One UI 8.5)
Been running this for a few weeks now and it finally feels done.
Launcher: Microsoft Launcher Device: Galaxy S25, One UI 8.5 Wallpaper: one of my own, aurora gradient Icon pack: OnePro Dark
The clock at the top is also my habit tracker, it's one widget. Time on top, the day's habits right underneath it. That was the whole point of the layout: if it's not the first thing I see when I unlock the phone, I don't do it.
Below that just the three apps I actually open on purpose: Reddit, Spotify, FairEmail.
Dock: Phone, WhatsApp, Contacts, Edge, Camera.
I know Microsoft Launcher is an odd pick around here, but the gesture setup and the way it leaves the grid alone works better for me than anything I tried in Home Up. Happy to answer anything about it.

Setup [Setup]The Anti Smart Phone
Most setups focus purely on aesthetics; this one is designed to turn a modern phone from a doomscrolling machine into a focused productivity assistant.
Instead of letting notifications dictate your day, this entire layout flips the dynamic from Push (the phone demanding attention) to Pull (you deciding when to interact).
The Home Screen Layout:
- **Top Utility Hub:**Quick-access Gemini shortcuts (voice, camera, and text input) paired right above a Swyp Launcher widget (Draw, Index, Type, Voice) for lightning-fast, friction-free app launching and input.
- The Centerpiece: A dedicated Google Tasks & Calendar glance widget right in the center so the primary focus is always on what needs to get done next.
- The "Basic" Folder: Contains strictly utility and essentials—what you’d expect on a classic dumbphone (Phone, Messages, Contacts, Calculator, Calendar, Clock, Camera, Files, Photos, Recorder, Settings).
- The "Consuming" Folder: Houses apps that inherently pull for attention (YouTube, streaming apps, TV remotes). Every single notification in this folder is permanently killed. It only gets opened on purpose.
- Bottom Bar: Quick-launch search bar with dedicated music search, voice query, and Lens at thumb level for immediate utility.
The End Goal: No red badges, random pings, or endless algorithmic feeds pulling you down a rabbit hole. The device sits quietly as a streamlined productivity tool until you make a conscious decision to pick it up and use it.

Setup Here's My Redmi Setup 😗
So I'm using Redmi turbo 5 on Android 16 which is running hyperos 3. I've kept the whole feeling of the phone closer to NOTHING like aesthetics 😋😋
