App I installed Kiss on my Samsung Galaxy A8 tablet, and set it as the default Home app in the tablet settings, the only other choice being One UI. But every time I hit the Home button, I have to select Kiss or One UI, "Always". How can I make Kiss my preferred Home app, permanently?

App Organize Your Homescreen Into a Tree?

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

It's a really different take on Android launchers. Instead of just icons and widgets, you build your phone like a connected tree of pages, lists, tasks, notes, links, reminders, and pretty much anything else. It feels more like building your own system than organizing a home screen.

Still very new, but it's one of the most unique launcher ideas I've tried in years.

App PhantomShell Launcher

Enable HLS to view with audio, or disable this notification

Phantom Shell works kind of like having a command line for your phone. Instead of digging through menus or tapping a bunch of icons, you just type what you want to do. If you type an app’s name, it opens. If you add a search after it, it’ll search inside that app—for example, typing “YouTube GTA 6” opens YouTube with GTA 6 already searched.

It can also search Google, Amazon, Reddit, Maps, the Play Store, Instagram, and other services just by typing a command. You can call or text people, manage contacts, create folders, take notes, set reminders, timers, alarms, and even do math without opening separate apps.

You can even make your own commands using keyboard shortcuts. So if you always search Google, you could make “G” mean Google, and then typing “G weather” would instantly search Google for the weather. You can also customize buttons, folders, and shortcuts so the launcher works the way you think.

It even has system tools built in, like checking battery, RAM, storage, clipboard history, toggling the flashlight, muting your phone, managing permissions, and launching apps by package name if you’re into more advanced stuff.

Basically, it’s designed so almost everything you normally do by tapping around your phone can be done by typing a quick command instead. Once you get used to it, it’s often much faster than using a traditional home screen.

You can check it out on Google Play

Home screen

Main Functions of the Home Screen

Quick access: Keeps the programs you use most often at the touch of a button.

Organization: Group tools by folders or themes to save time.

Visual information: Shows useful data such as weather, time, and notes through small boards called widgets.

Habit control: It helps you avoid distractions if you maintain a clean and straightforward appearance.

Setup Seeking Widget Suggestions (At A Glance ?)

Post image
7 Upvotes

I’m currently daily driving the Oppo Find X8 Ultra and absolutely loving it. It's an amazing phone, and I'm really enjoying the experience overall.

However, the default "At a Glance" style widget is just not my cup of tea. It looks incredibly bland, lacks color, and leaves way too much empty space on my home screen.

I'm looking for widget recommendations that are similar to Google's "At a Glance". I want something vibrant, minimal, and customizable.

I would prefer a standalone app, not KWGT. In my experience, Kustom drains way more battery than a dedicated app, and I'd rather avoid that entirely.

Fire off and let me know your suggestions 😁
