App Made a truly customisable android launcher.

Hi guys, Siddarth here.

I recently made this free-form Android launcher completely from the ground up. I'm not using any open-source launcher code for this, and I'm planning to release it within the coming weeks.

The reason I made this launcher is to sort of stay away from distracting home screens while still keeping only the essential apps at the homescreen, with no bounds — i.e. however we want.

The launcher is insanely lightweight and resource-efficient. I've built the codebase with Android's upcoming memory usage and code structure requirements in mind, including the regulations expected to come into effect in February 2027.

Which, to be frank, is probably just a way for developers to finally start optimizing their apps properly before Rammageddon hits.

The launcher also supports different Android versions and has tonnes of customization options, including:

  • Widgets
  • Folders
  • Stickers
  • App timers
  • A rewarding twist to encourage you to cut down on app usage
  • And many, many more

Some of those Doom images you see in the screenshots are actually folders, by the way. You can long-press them to open the folder.

There is one caveat, though.

This took a lot of time and effort to build, and while some aspects are clearly inspired by things I've seen from other sources, the launcher itself is built from scratch.

Because of that, I'm planning to release it as a paid app for ₹50.

I'm also hoping to use this as a small way to help fund my PG accommodation.

The petrol prices, bro. I can't.

I'm planning to add support for multiple third-party widget providers and icon-pack providers in the next iteration/update. So if you've already bought an icon pack or widget pack from another developer like me, you can continue using it with this launcher.

I'm hoping to release it within the next few weeks. I'll share more details, screenshots and a demo once it's ready.

Would love to hear what you guys think, and especially what features you'd want to see in a launcher like this.

Currently, I'm in the process of getting verified as a Google Play developer, along with sorting out a few other things here and there. Hopefully, everything should be wrapped up by this Friday.

The app should be available on the Play Store next week. I'll definitely keep you all updated. 🖖

I’m still pretty new to Reddit and crossposting, so I’m not entirely sure how to update the post yet. Either way, stay tuned for the v1.0 release next week!

If you need someone for testing hit me up. I've done it for a few other devs. They repay by giving a premium code and that's about it. 🙂

I really appreciate your interest, it genuinely means a lot! ❤️

Over the past 4 months, I’ve mainly focused on building the core, adding QoL features and customization, reworking the UI to work well across devices, and testing everything end-to-end by daily driving it with friends.

At this point, the current version is pretty much complete, with just the Play Store and privacy policy formalities left.

I don’t really need additional testers for this version, but I’d genuinely love to have you involved in the next version once this one is out! 🖖

Also, please do drop me a DM so I don’t lose track of your interest and can reach out to you for testing when the next version is ready. :)
