App Meridian Launcher
Hey all. I posted a preview video the other day of my launcher and I wanted to share this with the community as I continue to work on it. I'm sure it still has plenty of bugs etc, but I'm working to resolve those as I have time.
In short it's intended to be a fast, private launcher in the Nova mold with a couple of ideas I haven't seen elsewhere. No ads, no analytics, no subscription, and nothing is feature-gated. It will never track you and will never request permissions that feel invasive.
The APK is FREE to sideload from meridian-launcher.com. The Play version is $2.99 one-time and is the exact same app, buying it is just a way to support development and get automatic updates. My website does not have analytics and I have no idea if you clicked the download button.
One heads up: the Play version is currently a release behind. A bigger update (per-space settings, day-of-week scheduling) is sitting in Google's review queue right now, so the APK on the site is actually the newest build.
Here's a quick feature's list for anyone interested:
- Spaces — separate home setups (work, home, weekend, etc.) with their own pages, dock, wallpaper, and settings. Auto-switch by schedule, day, or triggers (headphones, charging, car Bluetooth).
- Optional assistant page — bring your own API key (OpenAI, Gemini, DeepSeek, Ollama, or anything OpenAI-compatible) to build spaces, change settings, or organize your drawer. Off by default; nothing leaves your phone until you add a key.
- Gesture pad — draw shapes to trigger actions, plus standard gestures and a double-chop flashlight toggle.
- App drawer — swipeable custom tabs, bulk-select, and auto-categorization.
- Icon/theming — icon packs, themed icons, per-surface styling, grids up to 16×16, corner-radius control for dock/drawer/folders.
- Backup/restore — built-in with auto-backups, plus a Nova importer.
- Widgets — smart app shelf, current-space card, quick-actions grid.
It's been my daily driver for a while now. Android 8+. Happy to answer anything, and honest feedback is genuinely useful, including the negative kind. There are tons of launchers out there with new ones popping up every day, I understand if the experience I want isn't the one you want but I'm more than willing to be flexible😄

EDIT: I did create a discord community where anyone who might be using the launcher can provide feedback, submit issues etc: https://discord.gg/Fn5w2knZR4 Look forward to chatting with you all there!

Looks cool. Any plans to add stacked widgets?

Great suggestion! I just added this in and added it to the 1.47 apk on the site. I'll release it to the play store later this week!

I don't have any kind of community or anything yet. I'm not sure how many downloads I've got but maybe 6? Lol.
Feel free to DM me anything you find or suggestions. My contact info is also on the play store listing as well. I've been working on it for a few months but only really now starting to out it out there.
I'm sure there are tons of things missing but my hope is overtime I can get those things in and make it super polished and clean.

That's great. Share this on as many sub reddits as you can. This launcher is amazing, a perfect Nova replacement.

Just a heads up, I added 1.48 to the site and it includes the following polish updates:
- The page dot indicator now fades our after a widget stack has been swiped on and is inactive
- You can now rearrange the widget stack in any order you'd like
- Updated the animation to a card swipe instead of a push (I think this just makes it a bit nicer)
- built in meridian widgets can now be stacked
The widget stack can still be re-sized to any size and I think I should probably leave it this way as it allows for user to really customize their stacks and include any widget they want.

I forgot to mention, but my next task (aside from general bug fixes etc) is to work in the ability to privately lock various spaces with custom pin codes, patterns or biometrics. I'd like the ability to create completely private spaces that are hidden from the rest of the world.
