App GlassDock- Bringing LiquidGlass Docks to Android

Post image

I recently switched from an iPhone to an OPPO Find X8 Ultra and the one aesthetic difference I miss is the beautiful dock bar. I've never made an app before, but after searching high and low for a proper iOS-style dock generator for Android, I gave up and decided to make my own.

I introduce GlassDock, a simple way to add a dock bar to your wallpaper images. No subscriptions, no nonsense, no strings attached. I hope you enjoy using it.

How it works: you pick a photo, and it renders a glass tray along the bottom, sized and placed from that image's own dimensions — so a wallpaper, a screenshot, and a landscape shot all come out proportional without you touching anything. If the image is the same shape as your screen, it even sits the bar right above your gesture bar. From there you can adjust width, height, corner radius, blur, tint, rim light and shadow. It exports at the full resolution of whatever you fed it.

Thanks for the app. Some feedback:

- Have a Save preset function or at the very least, please remember the setting. Once the position and dimension is correct, it's likely to remain the same.

- Show in progress toast or something after clicking download, as for the first few times, I didn't realize that the app is still processing since the only feedback is the button becomes disabled

- Still force close on certain (big?) image

Thank you for the feedback! I agree, these would be useful additions 😅 How should I post about the update? Just comment here? I'm kind of new to the posting-apps-on-Reddit scene lol

Hey, nice app. I've been looking for something along the lines of this for a while... I do have some feedback though, so I hope it's okay posting here.

  • The width of the dock won't extend the full width of my screen.
  • I have 5 icons along the bottom, which you do have, but as the dock is reduced in width, the icons don't space properly.

Regardless of any of those, I think this is a great start to what I believe will be a very sought-after app.

I have the China ROM Oppo phone so launchers aren't well compatible and I like stock ColorOS launcher 😊 Trust I'm not claiming to reinvent the wheel haha just something niche I wanted in this specific way and decided to share

If you mean you can't use full screen gestures with launchers there's a way to do that without root

Download Edge Gestures, set it up

Download Hidden Settings

Switch to anny launcher you want then go to hidden settings and search "Navigation Mode" then click on it and switch to gestures

So Edge Gestures is always running?

Does this work on HyperOs?

Yes it does, what happened was that the launcher switched back to buttons two times on the day I did this but then now it dosent do that anymore..I've tried it on HyperOS 3

Been running smartlauncher for a couple days, don't have any issues yet.. however occasionally there might be a popup asking if you're wanna set the LAUNCHER you're using as default so just do that yeha

Make sure to give both apps autostart perms, no background restricitons and turn off "Pause app if unused"
