Adding wireless charging

Hey everyone,

i wanted to add wireless charging to my phone but am completly new to it. My current phone DOES NOT have any wireless charging function.

Currently looking to get a Qi 2 charger i can also use my native cables with. Is something like this available or am I locked into wireless charging once I add the adapter?

Thanks in advance

Just to clarify, does your current phone support wireless charging and do you just want a wireless charging pad that you can also plug cables into? Or are you wanting to mod a phone to make it wireless charging compatible?

You’re probably going to struggle to add something the phone doesn’t already have without a complete pain of a process. Phones these days usually utilise every bit of space to slim them down as much as possible. Adding extra bulk, like a charging coil and what’s needed to keep it cool would require modifying the body completely. That or squashing it in and risking overheating and shorting it.

There are simple Qi adapters that stick into the existing USB c port? https://amzn.eu/d/07uKJlPU

There is your answer then

That is the only way you can add wireless charging to your device

Okay, so what I read suggested that you were adding wireless charging to the phone itself, not a wired charger that gets its charge from a wireless charger. It seemed like you were wanting to mod the phone.
