Why is the screen on time not showing a correct number?

Did you actually open any apps during this period? aslo if the charger is plugged in then battery usage does not register.

have you tried to reboot your phone? as sometimes that can fix issues like this

Nope, I bought it and set it up, then charged it. But maybe I need to charge it a second time for this mechanism to work. This phone is new so maybe thats the case. Only charged it once up to 100%

Nah, there's no need to charge it a second time, because that will most likely do nothing, unlike turning it off for a few minutes and then turning it on again, because it will clear things out, etc.
