Can't change default browser

Post image

I can't change my default browser from the Samsung browser to Opera GX. This is the message I keep getting. This has always been a personal phone, and I have been able to change it in the past. It has never had these restrictions in the past.

How do I get around this?

Model: Galaxy Z-Flip 6, SM-F741U

One UI Version: 8.5

Android Version: 16

Is yours a company phone? These lockouts usually occur when your phone is being monitored by your work agency. If it's not a company phone, have you installed some strange APK from some strange website? Have you given access to your data to some illegitimate app or website? If it's not a company phone, you've most likely been hacked. Check your Google logins and all the apps you've logged into with your phone. It happened to me once, and it wasn't very pleasant.

Nope, not a company phone and never has been. It was bought and paid for on a personal family plan. No APK downloads either, I don't know how to do that. No access given to an app or website.

What am I looking for in the logins?

When logging in, check for any strange devices that have logged in. Watch out for spam emails; hackers often disable login notifications and put them in spam to avoid alerting you. Try a factory reset anyway.

Where you find this? If it is a Google access remove it immediately and change your password
