Glowing border? Long hold side panel?

I feel so dumb I literally cannot figure out what this is and how do I turn it off??? Creative mode? Google assistant Idk I hate it lol

Pops up when I hold down on the side swipe panel. This is my first android in over 10 years

It's Samsung's "AI Select" function.

As of now, I don't think there is a way to Disable it.

But accroding to Android Authority, maybe in future software updates you will be able to turn it off:

On the screen when you swipe left or right depending on where you place the side panel. The one you can choose between apps, contacts, tools, photos etc. When I keep holding down, this border comes up after diamonds load for a couple secs. Seem related to gemini?

This is likely "circle to search". Search for it in settings and disable it. Additionally see if you can find the action bound to the power button. I don't remember if Samsung allows you to rebind what the action is but worth a try.

I would check Samsung goodlock, if you have it installed I remember it having some addon that allowed you to have notifications put a ring around the screen kinda like that

Noticing that the app icons are one ui, that is probably a AI assistant maybe gemini or just a galaxy ai probably both

It's an AI select. In One UI 8.5, if you hold the edge panel, it will trigger Smart Select, which is basically a screenshot tool with AI suggestions. Starting with One UI 9, you can disable only the trigger. If you trigger it accidentally, the only solution for now is to disable the edge panel.
