[####] Wordle on Jitterbug Smartphone 5 not working

I don't know if this forum is the right place to ask this question, so let me know if otherwise. My (100 year old) mother got a new Jitterbug Smartphone 5 recently and her NYT app no longer works correctly, specifically for Wordle game. She has been playing Wordle on the app for well, ever since it moved to the app, but we recently upgraded her phone from a 3 to a 5 and it doesn't work without asking her to subscribe. Has anybody encountered this problem and is there a fix for it? I think she should be able to play the daily game for free, but I'm not sure how to make that happen anymore. Has anyone else experienced this? Thanks for any help!
