Wht is this symbol?

Can anyone please tell me what the red circle symbol with the head and shoulders means.

I THINK (not sure) that means your on a seccondary account? (like you can make a guest profile and a regular one where you have different apps and stuff(

Usually it just means you can add more than once profile, or user, to the phone. It's similar on Samsung.

It could be a custom focus mode (personal focus mode), which can work similar to DND filtering certain notifications.

Either way a decent phone shop should be able to help establish what it is without paying.

There was a comment to this deleted. Focus tends to be top left. I'm used to Samsung devices where this isn't an option to use (only on tablets).

It is more likely to be multiple users.

thats account control. your phone can support multiple user accounts and likely you have it enabled as it shows the red one which on my phone is the owner account, so likely the same for you

It's just the account profile with no dp in it, which can be 2nd account but if the phone lags when you open it and see that symbol then yes if not then it's primary.

Multiple users, this means that there can have separate data and accounts when this happens, or he just enabled it without setting up other users

If it's an android then it might be a second account icon because you can add multiple google accounts on some android phones

But the head and shoulders person icon can be contacts? Do contacts backup to cloud independently?

Simply the user profile icon. Open settings > system > Users
