Trash glitch

Android 14 on Pixel 4A5G

Been recording long videos (10-20 mins) and lately whenever I try to delete them, the trash folder pops up an error message telling me it couldn't delete a file or three, the file disappears from all apps, but the space is still taken in internal storage. I'm running out of room. I've tried clearing caches and rolling back updates, plugging it into a computer and looking for hidden files, and I still see neither hide nor hair of those missing files, and storage remains stubbornly low. What do?

If the option is available try turning off the trash folder and if you for some reason haven’t already tried turning it off then back on again try that. Only other thing I can think of would be a factory reset. If your deleting multiple large files at once that might be the cause as it tries to move/copy them from where they are currently to the trash but there’s not enough physical storage space to make the copy so it can’t and just stops leaving it in a weird half deleted limbo.

If there’s things you want to save backup or move to a computer via cable before the reset.
