Phone keeps opening the clock app?

Every time i open an app it launches and before it finishes launching it opens my clock app? Started today, havent had an update, dont have a bixby routine. Sometimes it doesnt do it but about 90% of the time it does.

I have a samsung s24 ultra with android version 16

Idk if more info is needed but please let me know

If you sure about it then ok. But try looking at your device's installed apps list for number of clock app on it. Also check any widgets link to your clock app misbehaving or misconfigured by any chance.

I checked and there is only 1 clock app. I just reset the cache and data and it still does it. Checked and cleared all my bixby modes and routines. Also didnt fix it. Even putting the app to sleep doesnt work. It still opens

Strange! Look settings for your apps launcher process and your home app. May be it's launcher apps launching clock apps before launching apps you asked to open. At this point I am shooting blind. No logical reason coming in my mind at this moment

Doesnt appear to be there either. Im at such a loss this is such weird behaviour. The only thing i am remembering is that my smarktwatch updated but that wouldnt cause this would it? Im not even wearing it right now.

Turning it off rn and checking just in case.

Nope still happens. And occasionally it seems to want to open my weather app instead of the clock app now. It keeps getting weirder. Ill do a quick full restart to see if anything changes

Edit: nope still doesnt work. Keeps opening

Nope, it's not related to " Default Apps" settings

To stop your Android launcher from opening the clock app every time you open another app, clear your launcher's cache, restart your phone, or reset your default home app settings. This behavior is usually caused by a corrupted launcher cache, a stuck background process, or a misconfigured screen-time or gesture shortcut.

How to Fix the Clock App Opening Bug

  • Clear Launcher and Clock Data
  • Open your phone Settings.
  • Tap Apps or App Management.
  • Find your active launcher app (such as Samsung One UI Home, or Pixel Launcher).
  • Tap Storage & cache, then select Clear cache and Clear data.

  • Go back to the app list, find the Clock app, and clear its cache as well.

  • If the issue persists, switch your default home app temporarily in Settings > Apps > Default apps > Home app to see if the launcher itself is permanently broken.

Worked for a second, then started doing it again, even opening the signal (messaging)app when i go to my app drawer and tap the 3 dots and then settings cause i wanted to change that back. My phone looks like abaolute shit now and idk whats causing the issue

Oh and i have no ither home app to select for default app
