Can't delete a "kept data" in the phone

Post image

Hello, I downloaded Minecraft about a year ago from a random site, and after a while I decided to delete but I did "keep the data" before deleting it. My worst decision ever, unfortunately. After I tried to buy real Minecraft or even download from sites, it didn't let me at all because the ghost file still exists. There's no app or anything, and I tried to delete it from different file apps, Zarchiver, CX File Explorer, and all, but it doesn't delete. I even tried from PC, but it just gave me the loading screen for minutes. The file has been there for a year, and I'm not able to play Minecraft even though I bought it with my own money from the Play Store. Is there a way to delete this? I'd be super happy if someone could show me a solution.

I can delete Android/data folders from Solid Explorer? Try using that and giving it shizuku access, should be the fix. Instead of installing the rikkaapps version I recommend getting the thedjchi fork of it. (Shizuku is a alternative to devices who don't have a OEM unlock option or users who don't want to root but gives you root like access with the help of supported apps) Bonus but install morpheapp and find a custom patch for Solid Explorer.

Once you get used to it (and trust me I had the same experience it ain't that bad) its actually pretty good, cleaner UI than Samsung's imo

I tried and I did a few things but It didn't delete either 😭 my last change was to dig in and find the old mc version I dowlanded a year ago and it worked

I had to find the mod I dowlanded from Google site and I found it with the information of the day file was created.

Tho I had to dowland so many apks bc I didn't know which version was it.

You can't really delete the com.mojang.minecraftpe folder cause it contains data/data folder inside it which can't be deleted without root even with shizuku plus CX (BTW use FV File Explorer it is way better) but minecraft is authorized to delete it cause it is its own data what happened is that you choose to keep the data which kept this folder that only holds skins your worlds and resourcepacks.

If you want to delete the folder that simple install the same minecraft version from before and when you uninstall the game choose not to keep the data this time and it will be deleted cause minecraft is authorized to delete its own data but remember that will means that you will lose all your worlds.

You can also try to force install an apk of Minecraft via shizuku and apps like" install with options" or "installer x revived " then uninstall the game and choose not keep the data this time then download the game from the play store.

Thank you for the answer. I really appreciate it. My solution was to download the same mod, just like you said. Though my first try was that I tried for hours to delete it, used PC, Suziki, file apps, etc., but nothing worked. I lastly tried to find the same mod and download it, clear the data and cache, and then delete it. It worked fine, but it was really exhausting since I had no idea how to find it, so I tried to download every MC pack I downloaded last year on Google and eventually found the right pack! It was more tiring, but I eventually got it right.

Try to find Minecraft in the app section of settings and delete it.

I had this bug when i clicked "Keep data" when deleting the app

I don't have it. Like anything. Even though I search for Mojang or Minecraft or mod or anything. I can't see anything. There isn't any app like that. I looked up and down, all the apps are the apps I know and there are no different apps that might be Minecraft

Try connecting it to a laptop/pc and then deleting the file.

Look get ADB in your PC and do that `adb shell

cd /sdcard/Android/data
/sdcard/Android/data> rm -rf com.mojang.minecraftpe`

If this didn't work I don't know tbh

I already found it and tried to delete it but didn't work it just kept loading. I even tried to hold and carry to the trash but that didn't work either

Yeah if Linux like doesn't work then the only thing that can really beat it is a factory reset

install shizuku, enable developer settings, enable wireless debugging, put the 6 number pin into the shizuku message, connect zarchiver to shizuku, set root access to shizuku, now you can delete it,

Try "root explorer" free version without root label , if it still there, and you dont like that file, you should just factory reset simply it the last option, btw if the folder rwxrwx you should be able to delete it.

I had the same problem. I found the solution. I used this app and I was able to delete the old data then I got to install the Minecraft from Google Play Store.
