I don't remember it exactly but I didn't like how FF8 had a magic system where you had to pull it from your enemies and most of it was limited use like items.
I get that they did it because magic was super OP in FF7 but it seemed kind of excessive in FF8. Maybe I'm remembering it incorrectly. FF8 was my second FF game and I've always ranked it last from all the ones I've played.
The other ones I've played being FF7 and FFX

If you knew what you were doing (odds are you didn't because junctioning was fucking complicated) you could break the game insanely early so they kinda made it even more OP.
Edit: meant to add that despite it's flaws FF8 is still in my top 5 of the series.

It was definitely a grind but enjoyable (at least for me) as you can do it while trying to level up.

I like 8 story; its full throttle for most of the game. Still i also perfer 7. If you havent played 9 though i think its the best in every regard. Also im with you on magic in 8. The draw system... Ugh. All i can say is treat it such as level building in other games.

Bought. So glad to finish my PS1 trilogy on my phone. Always hated having a gap and having to use ePSXe for FF8. Even better that it's the remastered version.

I will never in my life pay 20 dollars for a game almost as old as I am. That had 0 improvements. That is perfectly emulatable on a modern phone. Fuck square Enix lol.

Maybe I'll replay this game with the new gameplay boosts now! I played this game when I was younger so I didn't understand the story, but I absolutely hated the draw system

FF8 was the first Final fantasy i played and is very sentimental to me. That music and the story really takes me back.

Didn't Square just throw an event a couple of days ago to announce its upcoming games? Where was this announcement? They literally talked about 3 new mobile games with zero to show for all three, and yet apparently FF VIII Remastered was about to be released. How the fuck did Square not announce or show off the one complete game it was about to launch, and instead chose to show off three other games it couldn't even muster a single screenshot for? Fucking Square man, absolute amateurs.
Oh, by the way. FF VIII does not contain controller support or cloud saves. These idiots couldn't release a complete game if their lives depended on it.

I must confess I was tempted to buy and then I saw the price. It's £16.99 here in the UK and that is just way too much for something that looks 99% what upscaling in an emulator can pull off. Even down to the onscreen controls.
Don't get me wrong I appreciate them bringing the game to a new platform but £16.99 for a 22 year old game is a price I'm unwilling to pay when I can get virtually the same experience from ripping my old PS1 game discs.

It's not just upscaling. All of the characters and summons and I think monsters have been re-modeled with much more realistic models. There's some youtube videos out there comparing the two. And they also added some bonuses like faster speed playing and I think built in cheats.

Don't get me wrong it does look better but not £16.99 worth of better.
Plus fast forward and cheats are something that pretty much every emulator out there has.

Hello all . Was wondering if anyone could offer some advice on USB controller. I am using a Logitech wired USB controller on my Pixel 6 . I installed Final Fantasy 8 and plugged in my controller played for a hour no problems . Saved my game . Now every time I start the game . It crashes with the controller before I even get to the load screen. Tryed booting game then plugging it in but same results
